I bought my pro-heat about 7 years ago when my house was carpeted, now I have hard floors. Anyhow my machine has been sitting for a long time but I got it out recently to use at my grandmothers house, I went and bought this $25 bottle of cleaner (from a chemical supply store) to get out her cat?s **** odor , it said it could be used in any machine. Well I filled everything up and started it up and the cleaner just drained right out of the little bottle in the machine! Could there be a seal or something missing? I have looked- and everything seems there- but the lid to the bottle is a little hard to get screwed on tight. Thanks in advance for any advice!

There is a knob on the base that says floor and tools. Make sure that it is closing when you switch it to floor, Make sure that the hose works when you use it too. That will tell us what the problem is.
You can use the shampoo and a soft bristle brush to do so, but due to the size of the Floor Pro, no.
If you happen to have the Little Pro from years ago you could use that on the seats, but I don't recommend it on the headliner.
If you are getting water from the tool. But not at the floor the most likely problem is the heater is clogged with coagulated soap or minerals. You will need to separate the upper handle to get to the heater. Insure the machine is unplugged. Remove the cover from the heater making sure you don't lose the little gaskets on each screw. Clean the channels inside the heater and put the cover back on. Be aware of how you are Taking it apart so you will know how to reassemble it.
Nozzle Clean Out tool is NO LONGER AVAILABLE from Hoover. Hoover stopped making this part over 1 year ago, and it's not sold any more. What you'll need to do is remove the dirty solution thank, unscrew the one silver screw on the suction port of the clear window, then turn the machine upside down and remove the two silver screws on the bottom corners of the see thru window. This will then allow you to completely remove the see thru part to clean inside of it. Unfortunately with this model that's really the easiest way to do it now that the tool is no longer available.
Try checking the top section of the machine (where the dial is located to switch it from floor to tool) and there is a little red plastic piece about 1 inch square on the inside of it. This is a lint filter that has a little door on it. Open the door or remove the entire thing to clean it out. It is probably completely blocked with hair, etc.. which is why you have no suction. Replace it after you clean it out and hopefully your problem will be solved!
I dont know if you are in the U.S or U.K If you are in the U.K there is a model called the Hometek Light n Easy. Its suitable for hard floor cleaning but poor on carpets. Generally most steam cleaners with carpet attachments dont do very much unless you consider premium machines such as Polti

How do you change machine from carpet cleaning to hard floor cleaning? Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X Clean Shot Upright are mainly designed to do mostly carpet, you can use it for bare floors, but for good wood floors I would use less water and pickup the water ASAP because you don’t want the good wood floor to warp - linoleum floors are fine but be careful with wood floors, and remember that the Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X Clean Shot Uprights Clean on the pull back, you squeeze the trigger, dispense water, the machine will use the scrubbing brushes to clean and the vacuum will pickup the water all in one smooth motion.
