Hi ya! I am in Australia we just purchased a quick cam notebook. When attempting to use the vedio recording this error code keeps coming up. We cannot use the video recording. Can you assits me. Thanks, Anthony
Having had aread on various forums the only two things that seem to solve this in most cases is to make sure that you have windows media player 11 installed and that you have select the correct sound (mic) input for the recording.
Im having the same problem too...im trying the windows media 11 thing now...its 93% downloaded so im praying its gonna work

According to Logitech,
"If you receive "Error code = 0x000001fe" when trying to record a video,
please re-run the Audio Tuning Wizard and select an available audio
recording device."
Sometimes reinstalling the WindowsMedia software or upgrading to WindowsMedia 11 also resolves this issue...its got something to do with codecs. You can download the full codec package HERE. Simply double-click the setup.exe file and follow the on screen instructions.
Should this fail as well, please download the latest version of QuickCam Software - v11.5.
Once done, please do a clean boot/install as explained in my Tips and Tricks.
