My c340 stops at "locating satellites". I reset it

If your StreetPilot c300 or c500 series device is no longer acquiring satellites please read the article linked below to ensure that this is not being caused by something in your environment:

Why won't my unit acquire satellites?

If after reading the above article your unit is still having problems, please ensure that your unit's software is up to date. You can do this by using our WebUpdater® program.

If you have tried all of the above suggestions and your unit is still not acquiring satellites, you can perform a master reset by doing the following:

Note: A master reset will erase all waypoints or favorites and will restore your unit to the default factory settings.
  1. Start with the unit powered OFF and unplugged from power.
  2. Touch and hold the bottom right corner of the touchscreen.
  3. Power the unit ON and continue pressing the screen until a new message displays, "Do You Really Want To Erase All User Data?".
  4. Touch Yes and go through the set up again.
Take the unit outside and let it set with a clear view of the sky for 3-5 minutes to acquire satellites. If the unit still does not acquire satellites after this, please contact Garmin Product Support.

My garmin c340 is taking longer and longer to connect to satellite. It took over 40 minutes to connect last time and today it won't connect at all after one hour.

here is a link to your manual

http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/StreetPilotc340_OwnersManual.pdf

on page 31 it shows you how to reset your gps. I would also go ahead and do any updates they have available for your unit there is also a link to that on page 31.

hope this helps.

Why does my c340 keep losing satellite reception

Hello there:
please follow these instruction and this should help if not let me know and i willcontinue to get you more information for you
nstructions
  1. Step 1 Calibrate the screen of the Garmin StreetPilot C340. If the touch screen does not seem to respond when you hit it with your finger or a stylus, you may need to calibrate it. To do this, turn the unit off and then hold down the "Power" key for approximately one minute. You will see a calibration screen come up that will recalibrate the GPS2_bing.gif unit.
  2. Step 2 Reset the Garmin StreetPilot C340. If your GPS unit is not responding or is stuck on a particular screen, it may need to be reset in order to operate. To reset, remove the face plate of the unit by gently prying it off. Locate the "Reset" button under the face plate and press down in order to restart the device.
  3. Step 3 Change the fuse of the Garmin StreetPilot C340. If the fuse blows on the GPS, you will need to make a replacement using an ACG/3AG 2 amp fuse. Unscrew the adapter cord at the end and remove the fuse found there. Put in the new fuse to see if this returns function to the unit.
  4. Step 4 Update the software for your Garmin StreetPilot C340. If the GPS is not providing you with correct directional information, you may need to update the software or download new maps onto the device. Connect the Garmin StreetPilot C340 with the USB cord to your PC and log on the Garmin website for available updates.

My Garmin 765t stopped navigating

There should be a small reset switch on the back of most garmin gps units. with the unit on, depress the reset switch with a pen tip or small object until the unit shuts off and restarts. It may take a little longer to pick up the satellite but it will reque the unit and unlock the navigation screen.

My Garmin StreetPilot c340 is frozen.

No.......the C340 STREET PILOT has a hidden reset button. Put your fingernail in the slot just under the GARMIN name on the front face plate. Gently pull the face plate outward. Don't take it all the way off. The reset button is on the right side of the front screen just under this plate. Use a pointed object and hold the button IN for 3 seconds and unit will turn off. When you power it back up it will REBOOT.

Garmin nuvi 350-can not change the location it is stuck on

you may need to reset it, as in resetting the c340, turn off and then press back on again, if this does not work maybe the reset button is in the same place as it is on my c340, instructions for the c340 is as follows: place your thumb nail in the groove located under the Garmin logo on the face plate, gently pull off the face plat, press the reset button, turn the unit back on and hopefully it will operate normally

My Garmin C340 is dead!!!!

I had the same problem on a trip. Required two fixes and once I did this the unit worked fine.
1. Replace the fuse in the car adapter (reason it wasn't charging when I used it in the car).
2. See the users manual on page 31 regarding resetting your C340.

Lost Memory and Map Data

I just spoke with Garmin and they walked me through correcting the problem - very helpful. It is a matter of resetting the unit. Turn unit off, then press a finger tightly against the bottom right hand corner of screen, holding it while turning unit on. When screen comes up, let go of power button but still pressing bottom right hand corner of screen, answer question regarding deleting defaults. It is tricky and may have to be done a couple times. Then you will answer questions regarding time zones, etc. When finished with this, turn unit off and go outside in order for the unit to re-aquire satellites. When all four bars on upper right hand corner turn green, you're back in business - or at least it worked for me. Hopefully this will help, but you may want to call Garmin as they are really helpful and can explain it better than I can. Good luck!

Display problem

Have you tried resetting the unit? It sounds like you may have a problem that Garmin needs to address. I would try to reset it first, then make sure you have the latest firmware loaded on the unit. If you still have the problem, it may have to be sent to Garmin for repair.
