My canon powershot S1 IS digital camera was working fine till one month back. When i used it a couple of days ago, it showed me completely blank black screen. The flash is working, the settings are displayed but i donot see anything when i try to take a picture Can you Pls help Out
This is a common problem with S1 IS and it is caused by faulty CCD sensor. Note that you can playback captured images without any problem but in capture mode all you get is blank screen. Will have to go to Canon but note that Canon repairs these models free of charge when it is the CCD sensor that stops working.
Sounds like a defective CCD imager. You may be in luck. Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. Please check the following two links for more info:

I haven't used my camera in a few months and am having the same problem of the blank screen.
can playback images, the menu displays on lcd monitor but is totally blank in camera mode.
