A DVD should fit without a problem in a blue ray player; but I suspect your use of the word "jammed" indicates something beyond it fitting of not.

Two possibilities: easiest is to find a small unmarked hole somewhere above the tray (assuming it has a tray) where the disc enters the unit. With the power off, insert a long straight pin (opened paper clip works) into the device until you feel a slight resistance. Press just a bit further and you should see the drawer begin to open (don't force it). Once the drawer begins to open, remove the pin and plug the unit in. Hopefully you have now engaged the mechanism that will allow the disc to eject.

If you cannot find the hole, or if this doesn't work, you'll have to remove the cover to get to the mechanism. This is usually a handful of Phillips head screws on the sides and back. If you Panasonic often marks the screws that remove the cover with a small arrow next to the hole to aid in disassembly.

Sony bluray bdp-s5200 won't connect with video services

Make sure your connected to the internet by going to network settings. Either way I would just do a reset which is also in settings then reconnect the WiFi.

your device is less than a year old and if you didn't shell out an extra $10 for a protection plan either cut your losses and get a new 2015 bluray with PlayStation now or buy another 5200 from Wal-Mart and return yours. But at least now an extra $10 should be an easier decision on your future bluray players

My samsung BluRay Player BD D5700 will play DVD's but will not play BluRay DVD's.

I had a similar issue. Try resetting your resolution. By default it should be at the highest level. I reset mine to 1080i and now the BluRays will play.

My TV is a few years old, I think it was bogging down because it was getting too much information from the player, but that's just a guess.

5 yr old Westinghouse TV w built in DVD player. DVD player won't play. Tried several different movies, none will play.

First thing I would check is that you are playing regular DVDS and not BluRay. Your TV may be old enough not to accept BluRay. If it doesn't work with a regular DVD then you most likely have a bad reader which can be replaced but you will have to take the tv apart to get to it.

Dvd won't eject

Someone is going to have to open the unit to see if something is jammed in the mechanism---a disc or something out of position.

Sometimes a gentle nudge will restore operation.

Dvd wont open

The problem may be a broken loading belt, jammed gears, broken cogwheel, or the timing is out of sync locking the system down.

Intermitant sound on a new bluray dvd (public enemies)

Have you updated the firmware on it? If not go to insigniaproducts.com and do so. If you are trying a Blu-ray movies(you said DVD but you never know) it could be that the player needs a update to support your movie.

Also see the forums at insigniaproducts.com to get info on updates and to let insignia know you still want updates to continue using this player. We need to get them to update this player for at least a year or two longer. My BRDVD is only about a year old and want to keep it for at least 3 years.

The Samsung DVD recorder does not record. Is it cheaper to repair or cheaper to buy another? This combi is approx 2 years old.

I would say for a 2 years old set, its better to buy a new one than repairing it as new one is far more cheaper. DVD recorders are becoming more and more cheaper as BLURAY recorders already hit the market. My advice, get a new one and dump the old one. You will get 1 year warranty too for buying the new one. If u repair the old one, there's no guarantee that it wont get spoiled again.

Sony combi dvd / video player . 4 years old. tapes not playing and when ejected the tape is caught up in the machine.

The usual problem with these machine is the take up clutch situated in the middle of the reels and underneath. The nylon gears split in the centre causing the outer to jam it really is a job for a technician.

PS3 not recognizing any disc

See if a DVD works. For me, I know my Bluray is ruined because I can watch DVDs and play PS2 games fine but anything Bluray does not work. If a DVD does not work, you have more of a problem, if DVD does work you need a new BlueRay which Sony should take care of for you. If you don't have receipt, etc. like me you can buy a new Bluray (KES-400AAA) on Ebay and use this guide to install it http://edpsystemssupport.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=29&Itemid=45.
Hope that helps.
