Ive bought a Lexar SD Memory Card and formatted it according to the instructions. Now when I turn the camera on it shows 'Format Fail' and my only option is to delete all files. I have tried formatting this numerous times but will not work. The memory card has been used successfully on my friends Pentax Optio camera so nothing wrong with the card.

Apparently, you have pics on the camera's internal memory. Your card won't work until those pics are gone. Here's how...with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert your card and it should work.
Hi, You need to format the card. Insert the memory card into the system and this will be displayed as the mass storage device in my computer. Right click over the removable disk and then click format. It will format the memory card. Then insert the memory card into the camera. Now the camera will not show the error message.
The NV10 will not accept SDHC type memory cards. The largest card you will find it takes is a 2GB card of the SD type (not SDHC). The camera is not SDHC compliant, unfortunately. If you can return the 4GB Lexar, swap it for a 2GB of the non-SDHC variety. If this answers your question fully, please rate the solution accordingly. Thanks
#1 Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com #2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives. #3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive. #4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'. #5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place. #6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.
