Cant hook up HDMi cabe from PS3 to JVC

you have a HDMI port Failure that's not uncommon many people fail to turn the units off before switching cables around it only takes a momentary short on the 5 volt line to one of the other lines and it can short it . or it may just be a normal failure . but you would have to change the .with the AV and HDMI ports on it to restore operation . your set probably has more then one port ? have you tried the others . by process of elimination you have ruled out its the game and cables so it points back to the tv

Adjust the tv to auto res

you t.v. has a widley known failure for hdmi failing

check he back and try to push it in more

have you ever went thru your hdmi setup procedure that jvc recommends?

your HDMI output is bad

I have the PS3 and this TV and it works....Try this.

1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect HDMI from TV to PS3
3. Select the correct HDMI input on the TV for the PS3(important)
4.Turn OFF PS3 if it is ON.
5. hold [I/O] Power button on PS3
6. Wait about 5 second and you should get the "HDMI Detected" or some similar message.
7. Configure the HDMI output for the PS3

Also, If you set the PS3 to "auto" for hdmi, it may set the resolution to 1080i. You may want to deselect everthing but the 1080P.

go into TV menu and turn the HDMI on. guessing it should be in settings? or Video input.

Try this

1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect PS3 to TV HDMI input
3. select TV HDMI input for PS3
4. turn OFF PS3 if it is ON
5. Press and hold the [I/O]Power button until the PS3 until you get the "HDMI Detected" message.

Also, this TV has a circuit that deactivates the HDMI if the rear cover is removed. It is possible the HDMI may have been turned OFF. This is reset in the service menu of the TV.

Had same problem with Panasonic PT60LC14 tv when connecting by HDMI cord to my PS3 and a blue ray disc was playing. First, read your tv manual to see what video inputs it supports . Then read the PS3 online manual (section on "video output settings").

For me I found out that my tv only supported 1080i (along with 480i/p, 780p) and the ps3 manual says blue ray outputs 1080p, so my blue ray discs will not play on my tv according to the PS3 manual. PS3 manual says to restart the ps3 (power off, then power on and HOLD for 5 seconds) - then the standard video output settings should be reset. Hopefully the ps3 menu will pop up at least. I haven't tried this yet but if it doesn't work, i'll may try to reset PS3 video out settings manually first using another tv that works with it ..
