Wont go past starting screen PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Hi!...i recieved my sandisk e270 back in decmeber as a christmas gift...and since i have opended it..i have had problums since day 1......it has frozen more than 15 times...and has crashed 2 times...and it would not charge bout 10 times..but i found out how to fix those...my main problum right now is that when i turn it on...it will not go past the starting screen....it normally takes aobut 9 seconds to load up...but now..it will not do that at all...it shows the begining screen and ever 10 seconds..it restarts to the begining screen over and over....normally...when i had a problum with it..normally....i would let it die and recharge it and that ususally solved it..but now when i try to chrage it..it would not show up in the computer..when i charge it..it just restarts to the start-up screen...please help me! i cannot live without this thing! -doug

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted. http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00.12.exe You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool. - Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds) - Slide the hold switch into "hold" position. - Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer. Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted. FYI, if you are using music from Limewire or other P2P sites, they are to blame. They are usually poorly encoded and cause the device to freak out. Best of Luck.
