The fault could be down to firmware or a faulty hard disk.
First of all, install and run the Philips Device Manager from the product CD.
Connect the player to the power supply and PC.
If the player is recognised by the PC, select the repair/restore option in Philips Device Manager, and follow the on-screen prompts.
This will format the player and re-load the firmware. NOTE: THIS WILL DELETE ALL TRACKS ON THE PLAYER.
If this doesn't help, or the player is not recognise, then the following might work:
Download the factory software from the following link:
https://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/sget?url=/mprdata/060421/060421185016_12769.zip&ofn=HDD6330-17-v1.3.zip
Unzip the file to a new folder on your desktop, and open the folder to show the installation files and folders.
Connect the HDD6330 to the power supply and the PC. Before the HDD6330 registers on the PC, press and hold [VOL+] & [POWER ON] to reset the player.
As soon as the player resets, press and hold [VOL-], until PC recognises the player as a removable drive.
Player will show the connection icon on screen but without the bar and battery indicator at the top of the screen. You may need to try this several times to get it right.
When the player shows as "GOGEAR" or "MDJUKEBOX", right click on the drive from My Computer and click format. Click on "Quick Format" and complete the process.
If the player does not allow you to access or format the hard disk, then the disk is probably faulty.
Copy ALL of the files from the new folder exactly as they are (not including "New Folder", into the HDD6330.
When the copy process has completed, safely remove the HDD6330 from the PC, but leave connected to the power.
The player will restart and eventually show "Burn Success"
Press and hold [VOL+] & [POWER ON] to reset the player. The player will restart as normal, and hopefully go into the main menu.
If this still doesn't work, but the process worked ok and the player still froze on "Loading" then the PCB is probably the cause.
You can obtain a replcement from
www.cheapestelectrical.co.uk
They are not listed on the site, but they definitely have them available. Unfortunately, they don't have the PCBs for the HDD6330.
Go to the about us page and contact them by phone or e-mail.
