Blank screen I get a blank screen through the view finder and on the display. A previous similar problem suggested resetting the camcorder. How do I do that? I've tried a couple of things and nothing has worked!

my camcorder does the same black screen i ask my technician he said the ribbon from my LCD must be replace.

Resetting your camera will not help ( I see this problem every day and in my experience it cannot be cured by resetting your camera ). It looks like a faulty CCD sensor and it will have to be replaced. It will cost +- $ 200 to have a new CCD block put in but get a quote first.

Look in the view finder when recording instead of the screen. if you see the image there then the unit is probably set to look through there. Many of the new units dont' have a full view finder to lens item they actually have a small lcd screen inside the view finder. Check your options for recording.

Also if the view finder is tilted you need to close that before usign the lcd.

The image will not appear simultaneously on the LCD

monitor and the viewfinder. It will appear in the

viewfinder when the LCD monitor is in the lock position,

and it will appear on the LCD monitor when fully
extended.

When you're recording do you see any indication that recording is actually happening, like a blinking icon in the viewfinder?

The view finder does not wotk

Try pulling out the eyepiece, it will reveal a switch that controls the focus, it maybe the problem, good luck
