Portable dvd player

I have a mintek 7" TFT monitor portable dvd player, when i load the dvd, the screen says loading and the movie never starts playing. What is wrong with the unit ? When i push the play bottom, never comes out of loading mode. I tried a laser lense cleaner and the disc just spins, won't come out of loading mode to even program it to clean the lens. Any suggestions ?

I have a MDP-1760. When I attempt to play the player the screen lighs up partially and then turns black. Audio continues to play. What is wrong?

The DVD portable player and the DVD disc came from the same countries?Ur DVD portable player and DVD disc u are using might have the wrong region DVD disc format frequencies.Like PAL frequencies only play Euroupean,Asia,Middle East,Austriala and Africa products.NTSC frequencise play only USA,Canada and Mexico DVD Disc products.

check your region code,i do not know where you are from but different countries have different codes,check on the back of the movies you are trying to play

I would get an optical laser lense cleaner ( it is basically a cd that has fine soft brushes on the underside to clean the laser lense )

Screen comes on, disk turns, loading starts, and doesnt stop
With the power turned off, open the DVD Player, and then open the top where you load the DVD into the player. Locate the laser lens and notice that the laser is attached to a transport assembly that moves the laser diagonally outward in a slot. 1. Slide this assembly outward to the end of its track. 2. Slide the assembly back inward to the closest inward position. 3. Repeat the process of sliding the assembly outward and then back inward.4. Put in a music CD and let it play all the way through. This helps to calibrate the laser head assembly movement. When the music CD is finished playing. 5. Put in a DVD, and you should have a working unit again This is a factory solution from Mintek that was given to a customer who ask for help with the forever loading disc problems. This solution may work on other models of portable DVD players. Most portable DVD players use this type of transport mechanism. Try this solution it might work for you.

The part that reads the DVDs is defective. I would suggest to try cleaning it using a lens cleaner, hopefully that works.
If the cleaning does not work, it might just be cheaper to buy a new one instead of repairing this one.
