the error code er if means that the main control board lost a feedback signal from the icing fan motor for over 115 seconds. this fan is located in the rear of the freezer section, on the left side of the fan cover. the fan supplies cold air for the compartment where the icemaker is located. the error code may be cleared by disconnecting power to the refrigerator for about 3 minutes, then plugging the unit back in. the code will be cleared, but may come back if the icing fan does not start running. if the error continues to come back after the power has been reset. there may be ice formed around the fan housing preventing the fan from running. the fan cover can be removed, but is time consuming and difficult. you could just unplug the unit for 24 hours and leave the doors open. this will allow any ice build-up to melt and return the unit to proper operation.
You might try turning off power to it by flipping off the specific breaker that serves the unit. Leave it off for 2-3 minutes, turn it back on and see what you've got. If you have a manual, it could be there is a reset button, but I have no idea. . .
Hello tom97420 - Was the freezer unplugged during the power outage? It is best to be unplug unit and wait for the power to come back on, turn control to off, plug the unit in and reset control to factory suggested setting. Do not open freezer door unnecessarily if freezer is off for several hours.Make sure the freezer plug is tightly pushed into electrical outlet and not plugged into a GFI. Is the temperature control in the OFF position? Set temperature controls to proper setting suggested by owners guide or set to the halfway point and adjust it up or down as needed. If any suggestions are ineffective, contact a professional to move forward accurately. From what you have described the power loss could have possibly caused a communication problem with the control board, temperature control or wiring harness.
Is there a phone number on the control panel?
Is there a backup battery that may need to be replaced?
If there is any contact information available, call to get the manual, etc.
