BEFORE YOU REMOVE ANY DEVICES FROM YOUR COMPUTER REMOVE THE BATTERY AND AC ADAPTER.Pull the battery out and try using the ac only,if this works use a toothbrush and clean the contacts on the battery and the computer itself. You can also remove the memory and the cd rom plus the hard drive.see if it will power up with all these out.Last option with all these removed press and hold the power button down for twenty seconds.
Good luck

My 1150 dell inspiron laptop wont let me pass the bios screen this is my second one that has just out of nothing password protected just decided to all of the sudden have a admin or bios password ...

Disconnect the battery, unplug it, then open it up. There should be a small round battery called the CMOS battery somewhere in there. Pull that out. Then plug your computer in and boot it up without the CMOS battery. It should say password disabled. Turn it off, disconnect it, put it back together, and you're good to go.

Dell 1150 laptop configuration module problem

Hi, you can perform a system restore by accessing safe mode by pressing the ESC button during bootup. Restore system to a time before the problem began. You will need to perform a full virus scan straight after normal bootup is achieved. Hope this helps

Boot problem on inspiron 1150

Try connecting it to an external monitor.
When you do, as soon as you press the power button to turn on the laptop, close the laptop lid - as this forces the laptop to display on an external monitor.
If this works, then it means the laptop screen is bad.
If it doesn't, the most likely cause would be that the laptop video card went bad.
For a while, some older Dell laptops with high-end nVidia graphics cards tended to die suddenly.

LCD would only display using Projector

This is going to be a driver glitch. Two things to try are 1- system restore, back to a point you remember both working, and 2- uninstall the video drivers, reboot, and reinstall. The machine should pick it up automatically. Try this and let me know.

Dell Inspiron 1150 Sound Card

Hi Pace,

Got to Start>Control Panel>System. Click on the hardware tab. Click on Device manager. Go down to Sound, Video and game controller. See if the Sigma is listed there. If it is, right click an select "Uninstall" Then reboot. Windows should detect it, and reinstall it. If that fails, go to Start>Add/Remove Programs and uninstall any Sigma Software. Download this registry cleaner,
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download458.html and save it to your desktop and run it. Reboot, and hope.
You can also try downloading the newest drivers, here,
