HP Compaq Presario SR1820NX will not turn on

HP Compaq Presario SR1820NXNo power....green light is on in the back but goes off when I try to power up at the front. When I unplug power cord and then put it back in, green light in back comes on again but goes out again when I try to boot up from front power switch. Tried in several outlets. no fan noise no lights..nothing

Any ideas?

My presario sr1820nx won't turn on, on the back of the power supply the green light just blinks? Is the power supply screwed or what?

I don't know, but the CMOS battery would be a good place to start, inside the tower...check to see it it has 3 volts or not.

I need to replace the CMOS battery in my Compaq Presario SR1820NX but need to know where cabinet release are

According to the manual, which can be found at: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00311113.pdf,

Removing the Side Panel:
1. Remove the side panel by loosening the screw (D)
that secures the panel to the PC chassis.
2. Slide the panel back about 1 inch (2.5 cm), and
then lift it off the unit.

WARNING: Beware of sharp edges inside
the chassis.

Very well could have toasted you network card. If everything else works, try installing a different one (and drivers) that is known to work. MM85
