Are you talking about the bios password thats the one at the first instance. If you cant get in the only way is to remove the battery inside for an hour or so it resets and allows you back into the setup again?

When I turn my laptop on it won't. Let me log in

With any password issues, be sure you do not have your CAPS LOCK on and, because this is a laptop, be sure the NUM LOCK is not on either. NUM LOCK activates the number pad on the letters of the keyboard and can easily cause login issues.

With both off, type your password in the USER NAME field and make sure it appears correctly (this will show you what you are typing and how the laptop "sees" what you typed). If this is correct, delete this, enter your user name and then re-type the password and see if you can get logged in.

If this fails, you may need to use a "password reset boot disk" to boot your computer up and reset your password. Let us know if you need help with that step.

I have a Lenovo A3 series all in one desktop computer and it is not recognizing my password and I am locked out. I put myself on as administrator and the computer was turned off before I backed up the...

first make sure the caps lock if off/on whatever applies the password when you typed it in

Remove a small coin sized CMOS battery to store all BIOS settings along with the password. To reset the password, unplug the PC, open the cabinet and remove the CMOS battery for approx. 15-30 minutes and then put it back. It'll reset all BIOS settings

as well as the password and you'll need to re-enter all settings.

Under the keyboard or bottom of laptop - If you are working on a laptop computerthe location of the dipswitch (almost never a jumper) can be under the keyboard or on the bottom of the laptop in a compartment such as the memory compartment.

If it fails, then try to remove the battery for at least one hour.

click start control panel Open User Accounts in Control Panel. On the Users tab, click the name of the user whose password you want to change, and then click Reset Password. In New password and Confirm new password, type the new password, and then click OK. Notes You can change passwords only for local computer accounts, such as guest, administrator, or accounts you create for your computer. You cannot change your network logon password in User Accounts. To change your own password, press CTRL ALT DELETE and then click Change Password

hope this helps

When i type in my password to unlock computer it says user name and password is incorrect

The user name or password is incorrect. Verify that CAPS LOCK is not on, and then retype the current user name and password. Or you must be trying a wrong password.

Try reseting password using boot disk

My acer laptop is locked because the password is incorrect . How do i open the laptop without the password

You can reset a lost or forgot Windows password with 4 methods below:
1. Another valid administrator account which can normally log on.
2. A password reset disk or a repair disc, which is created in advance ( before you lost password ).
3. Third-party software to create a bootable password reset CD/DVD or USB, like Windows Password Recovery Tool .
4. Re-install. Will lose data.

My sanyo zio with cricket wont unlock i did the pattern wrong to many times and my gmail account says invalid password or username but i can log in gmail for my laptop no problem.

Everyone says to do a hard reset, DONT. All you need to do is put your Google email in the user name box then put the word "null" in the password box. Once that is done it will ask you to to make a new pattern and then everything is back up and running. I went right in turned off the pattern lock, I never want to see it again. Also it might take a few trys to put the user name and password in. The second try worked for me.

How do I retrieve my password so another user can use his laptop?

If you don't remember your password the best thing to do is to reset the router.
1. Turn off your dsl or cable modem. Keep the router plugged in to the wall.
2. Find the reset button on the back of your router.
3. Use a pen to press the reset button.
4. Hold the reset button down for about 30 seconds.
5. The lights will flash on the router.
6. Turn your dsl or cable modem on again.
7. Reconfigure your router. It will be set to the default user name and password. User name should be blank and password is "admin" without the quotes.

I turned it off and forgot the password to turn it

If you've never set an administrator password, press and hold the power button to turn off the computer. Then, start it up, this time pressing F8 during the startup sequence. You'll get a screen with options to start up. Select Safe Mode, once the computer boots up, you'll select the administrator icon to log on. Like I said before, if you've never set the administrator password, then you should be able to hit enter. Once the computer finishes booting up, select control panel in the start menu and choose users. You can select your user name and reset your password from there. After this, you should set a password for the administrator account so that it is protected from hackers. Reboot your computer and log-on with your new password.

When I change the web port and reboot the router, I can't access to that again

You can reset it to factory default settings. There should be a very tiny hole at the back of the router. Using a paper pin press and hold on a switch button inside the tiny hole for at least 10 seconds and then release. Make sure when you do this router should be ON. After the reset, turn it off and then turn it ON again. Connect your laptop or desktop to it and now you should be able to access it. Remember to use defualt user name and password. They are usually admin / password OR no user name and password is password.

Give it a try.....

try going into safe mode. Shut your computer off completely and then turn it back on, when you do start tapping f8 and then choose safe mode with networking. Once your system comes back up see if you can get into any user account. If you can press the start button and click the picture at the top beside your name to enter the user accounts screen, then press the home button, and click on the administrator. from here you can have the option to remove the passwords. If you cant get into any accounts in safe mode you will sadly have to do a recovery, which entails reinstalling windows.
