SOURCE: Document in ADF Redo operation after checking document in ADF and

UPDATE..............

I Solved the problem....

The problem is in the gear box on the document feeder......The (Poor Quality) tension spring against the gear harness becomes stressed to the point where it bends out of it's 90 degree angle from (FYI - below average) use . It fails to function properly causing mis-alignment of the gears during document loading.

In order to fix this you need to remove the drive motor, gear housing and some gears. Bend the tension spring back to the correct 90 degree angle. and reassemble it again. Not for the impatient person.

SOURCE: Canon Imageclass D880 automatic document feeder problems

Hi,

Clean the ADF rollers and pad with alcohol.

Check to see if your ADF has done over 90 000 copies and if it has, change the ADF pick up assembly only.

Good Luck

SOURCE: Documents will not feed from the ADF

Is there a more permanent fix in the meantime? I'm just tired of fiddling each time that I use the ADF

SOURCE: My printer is a Canon

I had the exact same problem. The Alarm light was always on and the screen said "Document in ADF. When I pressed "OK" it would read "Eject the document". Even after I placed paper in the ADF and the paper would feed the document through it, the error and the Alarm light was still there. I found the solution, Lift the cover to expose the flat bed scanner glass. Under the cover, there is a long white bar with two white tabs perpendicular to the white bar. One of the tabs was retracted. Pull on the tab until it is fully extended. The alarm turns off and there is no longer the error. Simple solution to a damn annoying issue.

SOURCE: Canon MX330 - trying to use ADF. No doc inside on

Canon Pixma MX330, ADF error, Code : 2,103,0
Here's what I found. There were no stuck gears or pieces of plastic caught anywhere.
The ****** can still feed paper, except for (consistently) the last page -->error/stuck.
1) In order to CLEAR THE ERROR you need to do two things
a) & b):
a) Press OK, WITH THE HOOD OPEN, with a piece of paper loaded in the ADF, being careful to grab the paper manually as it comes out of the bottom of the hood.
b) Windex the strip of glass surface which sits under the ADF next to the platen. This needs to be done with attention to minute detail, and a bright LED flashlight; since ink smudges off of documents and collects on the glass with alarming frequency. The machine may think these smudges are caught/jammed paper.
2) In order to SCAN a stack of paper, add one blank sheet to the bottom of your document. This page will be the one that
fails to clear the ADF, generates an error, and must be manually cleared before the next job.
The rest of your pages will have already scanned.

Repeat Every Time You Use it

Hi I have a HP 2135 deskjet printer, scanner, copier. I to scan multiple pages if 'Scan PDF" is selected. I cannot get this to work. Does this little printer have this facility??

Have you installed the latest software version of HP Scan on your computer?

Heres a link to the HP instructions on how to scan multiple pages using the document feeder.

HP Officejet 6480 leaves a black line down left side of sheet only when usine document feeder. Already cleaned feeder rollers and feeder glass, as well as glass bed.

I found the following information on the HP web site, under their support forum.

Clean the automatic document feeder (ADF)
If the product is not already off, press the Power button to turn off the product, and disconnect the power cord from the product.
Remove all originals from the document feeder tray.
Open the ADF cover.
Lightly dampen a clean, soft, lint-free cloth with distilled water, and then squeeze any excess liquid from the cloth.
Use the damp cloth to wipe any residue off the rollers and separator pad.

NOTE: If the residue does not come off using distilled water, try using isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.

Close the ADF cover.
Step 2: Clean the glass strip in the ADF
Open the ADF cover, and lift the ADF mechanism.
Lightly dampen a clean, soft, lint-free cloth with a mild glass cleaner.

Gently clean the glass strip inside the ADF, and then thoroughly dry it to prevent spotting.
Lower the ADF mechanism, and close the ADF cover
Close the scanner lid, reconnect the power cord to the product, and then press the Power button to turn on the product

My HP printer paper get stuck in top feeder whenever I try to fax

Lift the cover to the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) and remove any paper debris from the rollers. Also, clean the rollers with a very damp cloth and a dab od dish washing detergent.
Also, check to see that the spring loaded lever is in place.

Clear the jam from the automatic document feeder (ADF)
  1. Make sure the product is turned off and the power cord is unplugged.
  2. Grasp the upper edge of the automatic document feeder (ADF) assembly and open it.
  3. Raise the roller assembly.
  4. Gently remove any jammed paper from the ADF.
  5. Lower the roller assembly.
  6. Close the ADF assembly.
  7. Plug the power cord back into the product.
  8. Press the Power button (c01346625.gif ) to turn the product on.
  9. Try the print job again.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
