I think i found the button on the guitar but do i hold it or just press it because when i hold it all it does is lightly flash red. is the guitar broken?
In order to sync your guitar up with the adapter, all you need to do is turn the ps2 on and then the guitar press the button on the adapter or guitar and it should find it. it will glow solid red when nothing is happening and blink when something does happen on the guitar.

Well first of all , in rock band all guitars should be able to sync. Restart the system and hit the sync button on your xbox 360 face plate. You will see a little hole on the front to the left of the power button and before the disc drive. Get a quetip and take off the cotton . Then you use the uncotton side to put in hole and press in for 3 seconds. Then you quickly hold down the x power button on the r3 guitar for about 5 seconds and they will both be flashing . when they stop they should be synced and ready to play . This will solve your problem!
Are you pressing the sync buttons on the component and then pressing the sync button on the console? It is under the large door on the front of the console.First press the guitar sync, then it should give you a couple of seconds to press the console sync.If the light goes to constant blue,it is synched.Do the same for the other component.Good luck and rock on!
Did you have to sync it from the very start?I am not familiar with the guitar games. If the guitar needs batteries, open the battery cover. Also open the large cover on the front of the console. There should be a sync button under the guitar battery cover.Press that and the red sync button at the top of the open panel on the console. It may take a couple tries to sync up but it should. Good luck and ROCK ON!
look on the instruments for a red button. press this button at the same time you press the red button on the front of your wii console. this should sync the system to the controllers. (the guitar should already be synced since you plug the wii remote into it, but do it anyway)
the same problem happened to me, and i just pressed the sync buttons on the guitar and the wireless adaptor at the same time and let it sit. it started syncing fine after that. I hope i helped! :)
If you are using the Fender Stratocaster Rock Band Guitar:
1) Ensure you have fresh batteries in the Wireless Guitar
2) Insert receiver into USB hub
3) Turn on Guitar via switch on back.
4) If both the guitar and the USB receiver is flashing blue, then press the guitar logo button until flashing blue light on the receiver stops flashing.
Note that on Rock Band 1, non-Rock Band guitars (ie: Guitar Hero and Wiimote based guitars) generally don't work.
press the sync button on the back of the wiimote and on the wii consle by the sd card slot (should work if not then like u said junk guitars put out for xmas)
guitar hero controllers were not meant to be compatible with rock band on wii for some dumb reason, the only rock band compatible with those guitars is rock band 2, my world tour guitar doesn't even register on rb1
For me it was the white box that connects to the back of the wii. I tried everything from changing batteries in the guitar, to pressing white button on guitar, to restarting while holding white button down to screaming at the wii. Then I bought a new rockband guitar at best buy and the new guitar did not work until I swapped the white box (dongle?) that connects to the back of the Wii. One is for the drums and the other is for the guitars and mic. Hope this helps.
