Question about Samsung HCN4226W 42" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Perfect Focus not working

I had a convergence problem which was fixed by a Samsung Technical service center and cost me $367.00. The perfect Focus function keeps giving me a message "Sensor Data no Found". Technican tried to fix the grids at my home and then said the TV needed new part. They say the part is no longer available. Samsung says TV had 2 versions and that Version 1 is okay but Version 2 not. What is needed to fix the perfect focus problem? Techical center said part $290.00 is not avaliable. What part is it that I need?

I know this post is old, but for others, I apparently pulled out the connector from the sensors to the CG module when I took the front panel off. The module is the silver box, third box from left.
Plugged it back in, and the perfect focus now works.

Enter your service mode by pressing mute-1-8-3- a cross hatch pattern should apear, when it does and it looks alright press and hold the enter key the ,it will say data write then press the focus key the set will align your sensors and retuen to the cross hatch pattern ,tune off set and turn back on and try the magic focus ,should work.

Green & Blue Ghosting Convergance problem

Odds are real good that the cooling fluid in the green and blue picture tube assemblies has become contaminated. You can tell by looking down into the lenses with a flash light. Funny thing is the red never gets contaminated because whatever organism is causing the problem can't survive in red light. BTW this may still not solve all of your convergence problems but when the colors are so badly diffused the convergence sensors for flash focus can't lock onto the beam landing.

"Perfect Focus" problem on Samsung HCN4727W

You have a bad sensor, a bad digital convergence board, or the new board is not working correctly. I would start by swaping out the convergence board or exchange it for another one. Good Luck

My samsung projection tv #pcl5415r don't want to perform perfect focus adjustments

perfect focus functions are based on service mode setup...or factory settings. if the alignment of these setting are loss then the unit wont perfect focus. does the unit have a complete loss of convergence. a complete loss of convergence indicate possible failure of convergence amps.

Perfect Focus 2

Use a site like servicemanuals.com and get the service literature for your make/model.Do NOT perform factory reset procedure-that is reserved for when certain parts are changed. You will need the access sequence, adjust info and add to memory step for servicer convergence.Keep in mind--you may have defective convergence IC's.If so,you will have difficulty w/alignment.Use OEM or better IC's no generics!! They won't hold up.

Perfect Focus

Perfect "FOCUS" is a misnomer.Convergence is the real issue.Enter servicer mode--perform accurate convergence alignment procedure--activate perfect focus as last step to 100% alignment. If you have a High-Definition source, check procedure for that.

Reverse fisheye!!

you are going to need to replace the convergence board assembly. It is available at http://www.samsungparts.com/part_detail.asp?catalog%5Fname=Parts+and+Accessories&product%5Fid=BP95%2D00142P&search%5Fmodel=HCN653W. Also get the service manual, as you will need to do some touchup convergence and reset the perfect focus setup again If you have the technical ability. If you do, great! If you do not, these service menu alighnments can mess up your set, so take no shortcuts. Good Luck
