Monitor flashes different colors

The monitor was dropped and now simply flashes different colors on a rotation. In order, it shows black, white, gray, then a multi-colored screen. The multi-colored screen has 4 horizontal colored lines, from top to bottom they are red, green, blue, and white. The monitor seems to be stuck on this rotation and none of the buttons on the remote or face play seem to do anything.

SOURCE: about colors

It sounds like either an internal wire is loose, or possibly in the connector to your video cable. Make sure the connections for your video cable are tight both at the computer and at the monitor. If they are, try a different cable (cables are much cheaper than monitors, always start with the easy solutions first). If the problem is internal to the monitor, then it is up to you to decide whether to try to diagnose/fix it yourself, or buy a new monitor. The cost to pay someone else to fix it is likely more than the value of the monitor.

SOURCE: vertical lines across my entire screen

My 42" Samsung Plasma HDTV HP-R4252 has a 2" vertical strip of green pixels down the right side of the screen.

My 3 year warranty with Circuit City expires in Nov 2008.. so I hope I'm covered.. can't call until the morning.

Samsung said it might be a logic board problem.. but they want almost $2000 to fix. I might as well buy another TV if Circuit City can't fix it.

Hp monitor flashes solid colors

Hi there, the mode the unit is in is like self test. Try first to disconnect vga cable from pc and see if the there is notification "no signal" poping -up to see if the problem is not graphics. Anyway you can try to disconnect power cord from monitor and wait a while then try again power it on. If all this doesnt help it will be more then good advice to RMA it if still in warranty. Tnx

One of the two monitors will cease displaying screen image and begin rotating between a BLACK/WHITE/GRAY/Primary Color Bars every other second following a few minutes after start up. Have tried Restar

It might be the input from the graphics card. Try swapping the two monitors' feeds to see if the problem is with the monitor or the card. The monitor seems to be going into a screensaver mode since there's no signal. The flashing light could mean there's a power supply problem, or no signal.

Monitor comes up in color then fades to black and white. Bad video card or bad monitor or what?

Connect the monitor to a different desktop/laptop, and see if it still "fades". If it does, the monitor is the problem.

Faulty scanned images

Pls check your color Scan settings. Generally there will be some color difference between the original and scanned Image because, the original is 'reflected light' whereas, the scanned image is a 'source light' on the monitor. The monitor setting can also affect the color output. S. Mohan

Severe gradient issues / problems with darker grays

So your sure when you go into the monitor settings, and color, it is set to like 9300k or something? It probably isn't the monitor, because the video games you said display just fine.
