I lost the manual for my daughters insignia ns-dv4g. She got an IPOD and gave this to me. I dont know how to download music to it. Can you help?

Hi stormylady38,

Please click the link below, which will take you to the Insignia page where you can download your manual (as well as drivers, if you ever need those). Your Mp3 player should be the lower of the two pictured.

Remove the battery to force the unit to power off. Reinstall a fresh battery and reset the unit by inserting a thin tool (e.g. an unbent paper clip) into the reset port. A schematic can be found in the owner's manual. If these steps don't resolve the problem, you may return to the place of purchase to pursue service options.

Computer wont read my mp3 player wehn i plug it in?

To make it work you have to change it to MSC mode (Only for Windows XP and 2K, it somewhat technical so do it at your own pace and follow instruction:
  • Click on the Start button and Select Settings. Then click on Control Panel.
  • Double click System, and then select the Hardware tab.
  • Click on Device manager.
  • Click on the '+' for Portable device and you will see "Insignia Video Player".
  • Right click and select "Update driver".
  • A Hardware Update Window will open, Select "No, not this time" when windows asks to search for software. Click next. Check the "Install from a list or specific location" checkbox and then click next.
  • On the next screen select "Don't Search. I will choose the driver to install".
  • Click next and then you will see a window showing two drivers that are compatible with your player.
  • To put the device into MSC mode select "USB Mass Storage Device" and click next.
  • A finish installing driver will appear and your device will now appear as a hard drive on your system.
  • To switch back to MTP mode, open the device manager as above and click on the "+" for "Universal Serial bus controllers" and you will see "Insignia Video Player".
  • Then follow the steps above until you reach the "Select the device driver..." screen in which you select "MTP device".
  • Then click next and your device will be reset back into MTP mode.
Make sure your insignia has the latest firmware, this i provide for you also here: http://www.insignia-products.com/t-New%20Video%20Player%20Firmware.aspx

Hope that helps to fix it

I have a similar problem. It seems the only way to do this is use the Best Buy supplied program. Is anyone willing to release the playlist format so a converter can be created?
