ON SENDING FAX OR MAKING A COPY THERE IS A BLACK LINE ON THE RIGHT SIDE ABOUT 1 1/2" WIDE. CHECKE LITE TUBE AND CLEANED IT.
We also had this problem. The solution that worked is to put the machine in maintenance and reset the scanner. Unplug the machine, put your finger on the menu key first and then re-plug the line while holding the menu key, in about 30 seconds all the lights will flash and the display will say maintenance. Release the menu Key and press 55 and this will reset the scanner; if scanner error comes up the machine will need to be serviced. Press stop and then 99 this will exit you out of maintenance. If the machine does not have an error try making a copy of blank sheet of paper and see if there is any improvement.

IF IT IS WHEN YOU SEND ITS NOT IN THE PRINTER SECTION YOU NEED TO CLEAN THE CIS UNIT BUT MOST LIKELY THE CIS UNIT NEEDS TO BE RERLACED

Move the corona wire tab back to the home position, this is a common problem when the corona wire tab is not in its homeposition it will leave a line whereever it is at unless it is in the home position. as you are looking at the drum unit thats all the way over on the right side where an arrow is located.

It might be you're rollers, depending on how old machine is you could try cleaning them,if they are breaking up,they will need to be replaced.

Same problem but can't seem to find a fix.
When I send faxes or make copies, I get a solid black line about 1 inch wide all the way down the paper. The line is off center to the right.
I have a black line about 1 1/2 inches on the right side of my fax when I send. I was told to clean the CIS unit. How do you get to this part and how do you clean it?
I too have a solid 1 1/2-2" black line down the right side of the page when copied or faxed. I don't have it hooked up to the computer to test the printing. Called the service center and after they had me clean it multiple times, and remove the printer cartridge and move the metal coil back and forth multiple times they said I needed to take it to a service shop for repairs. Any ideas that would save me $125 at the service shop- I think I'd rather buy a new machine than spend the money to fix. Thanks!
