SOURCE: Tension Problem on Pfaff 2034, bobbin loops

Rule of thumb.. Loops on the bottom, problem on the top. Loops on the top, problems on the bottom.

Set your upper tension at 4, and rethread the machine from the top. Just before you thread the needle, but the presser foot down. If the thread pulls right thru easily, then the thread is not thru the tension wheel right. Because, if you can't pull the thread thru with the presser foot down, you have it threaded right.

SOURCE: my 2134 is shreading the thread at the last thread

try changing the thread to a different type on a sample piece of fabric
if that doesn't help check the thread guide you mentioned & see if has any burrs on it, burrs can damage thread

SOURCE: Just bought a brand new Pfaff Quilt Expression 4.0

this is a known issue with the pfaff.....i have just bought the machine and it has thread uptake issues...thread tension issues and it comes unthreaded by itself often...leaving globs of thread on the bottom stuck in the feed dogs and under the throat plate.....then the stitches are not properly balanced because the tension gets too loose on the bobbin thread....very disappointed to find out it is a known issue with all the viking husqvarna made machines...which are pfaff, janome and viking.....sux.

SOURCE: Pfaff 4.0 quilt expression pulling bobbin thread up to top of fabric help.

try a new needle
rethread the machine top & bobbin
try adjusting the top tension just a touch to see if that helps
clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for loose threads
or lint
make sure the bobbin is wound correctly & inserted into the bobbin
case correctly
