My husband used his SIm card in my Nokia 6600 for a couple of days when his phone had a problem. Now, the phone refuses to recognize his number from the phone book. I have put his number on the Phone card phone book as well as the Sim Card phone book, but it still treats his number as an unknown. Any idea why?

try change network selection from manual to automatic or opposite . if not success switch the phone off and on. if not success also tell to your sim card provider to solve it (maybe you are on place Outside the coverage) if all this dont solve the problem just buy new sim card of other provider
Sorry its a long list , but have included everything.Just pick out what you need...The default security code for Nokia is 12345. SIM pin code: This is a pin code that locks the sim card until you enter the correct code. This protects your account, even if your sim is put into another handset. To reset it you need the PUK code... Pin Unlock Code (PUK) If you miss keyed (or forget) your SIM PIN code, and enter the wrong one 3-5 times in a row, the sim will lock up, and you'll need to enter the unlock code to release it. You should ask your Network Service Provider for this code when you need it. Don't try to guess it, because after a few wrong guesses, the SIM card will be permanently disabled. The PUK code was printed on the plastic card that your SIM card was attached to. Phone Security Code: This locks the handset, as opposed to the sim card. You can also set some handsets to only accept a "new" sim if the phone security code is entered. Master Reset Code Sometimes known as the Master Code, this allows you to unlock a handset if you have entered the Security Code wrongly too many times. Which is the one that you want?
If it is a CDMA phone, take it to the service provider and ask them to transfer it to their computer and put it on your USB flash drive or your new phone. If you are using a SIM card (GSM phone) you can transfer the numbers to the SIM card using the phone menu and place the SIM card in the other phone. With a SIM card reader, you can download the information to your computer.

If this is a gsm phone, try the sim card in another known working phone that has service with your carrier. If you still can't make a call, the SIM card has failed (it happens, I've seen it). If the call goes through, phone is most likely a paperweight.
