Acer Keyboard Cursor moves without my knowledge

I have an Acer Aspire 5720 and I constantly seem to have the cursor move while I am typing - I am suddenly typing in a place I don't want to be. I think the laptop keyboard is at fault, as I can type much better with a regular keyboard hooked into the laptop My cursor jumps all over the place when I type. IT makes it impossible to type a complete sentence without having the cursor start my sentence at random places in the paper. I can't figure out where to disable the touchpad and the google download didn't work. HELP!!

When your typing....pay attention, see if your wrist or the palm of your hand is contacting your touchpad. I use to do that all the time when I first got my laptop.... Makes me think that that's what is considering you said it doesn't happen when you use a detached keyboard

The keyboard transmits vibrations which the touchpad recognises as a tap. You need to turn off the touchpad while typing. To do that you go into the control panel, hardware, mouse, etc. till you find the 'Tapping' tab on which is the option ot disable while typing.

I forgot to add that if you've updated your driver the option may have disappeared, I had to uninstall my driver update for the option to reappear.

The page scrolls up and down - somtimes even jumps up and down - when the cursor is nowhere near the right hand of the screen where the vertical scroll bar is.

It is possible you might have picked up a virus, or a bad device driver. Try a system restore taking the computer back in time before this happened, may resolve the issue.

Mouse keeps shifting the cursor to a different place in document

On touchpads if you touch the pad twice in quick succession it acts as a click and the cursor will move to the mouse pointer location. In mouse settings disable "tapping"

The cursor moves by itself during typing. It jumps to a position and I find myself typing in the wrong place.

I have found this is usually the small button in the middle of the keyboard (mouse button) I have tried some software to remove this problem but it did not on my laptop I ended up carefully removing the key board and disconnecting the two wires that go to the button My cursors kept moving across the screen
