hi there the pump runs fine nothing clogging it when i put it on a wash cycle the machine fills with water then pumps it out while spinning with the on/off lights flashing and rinse hold to stop it i have to unplug it from the wall i am told its a tach / motor fault but all the wiring checks out ok from the motor to the module

hi there thanks for your help when i put it onto a wash programme the machine fills then pumps out straight away with the motor on a spin i have not got the motor on the machine its on the floor by the machine with no belt or drum connected as i have been trying diffrent things and cant be bothered to keep putting it on and off lol how the problem first came up was i replaced the bearings on the drum as they had failed i got it all put back together ok and thats when this problem started

  • Anonymous Sep 14, 2007

yes i built it back up thinking the job was done it was when i tested it i came across this problem i have cheacked all the cables from the motor through the plug and down to the module all is fine there i even get a ressistance through the tacho when i turn the motor im guessing i may have a module fault i cant think of anything else i could put the motor back on the machine to see if it is a drum sensing issue other than that i cant think of anything else i must thank you for all your advice

If it is not rinsing it may have a small piece of clothing stuck in the waste pipe or pump. Remove the rubber hose from the waste pump and check inside the hose and make sure the pump spins freely.

These lights flashing are a sign of a error in the program. Are you saying it doesn't wash? Is it very noisy when it spins? and does it take water in then rinse it out straight away? Can you see the drum move about more than normal? The drum may be out of balance when clothes are in it and the module will then simply go to rinse mode without washing. There are at least two drum mountings on the side of the drum which may be loose or even broken, make sure these are OK. You will see them if you take the lid off and look downwards towards the drum.

If the motor is not turning the drum this can cause program issues because the sensors are not sensing drum movement so they may switch on the waste pump and rinse to avoid water remaining in the drum without it spinning.

I guess you did initially build it back up after replacing the drum bearings! If this is when the problem started check that you have all connections attached.

Programme won't move on - rinses flashing and programme won't continue

Hi dear. Regarding your information, I would say 3 factors play up with it.
1- Tacho generator or it's plug faulty on motor
2- Motor Carbon brushes worn out or
3- Power/control unit faulty.
I can advised to contact your local Miele center to diagnose your machine.Thanks.

Aquarius wml560g f2 f4 and door lock lights on. nothing happens.

f2 is motor tacho detached / motor jamed f4 pressure switch jammed on empty if there is still water in your washer its proberly the filter blocked or the pressure chamber the motor tacho registed the fault on to the computer because it could not turn at full speed the fault would indecate to me that if you clean your blockage in the pump / filter /presure chamber also if you have your washer drain hose connected under your sink take that of and check also

WHAT DOES F 02 FAULT MEAN ON THE AQUARIUS W740

"F02 = Motor jammed or tacho detached".

Check the motor hasn't jammed up somehow, or that the small tacho coil (the thing that detects the speed of the motor) on the end of the motor hasn't dropped off (tip the machine back and it's in between the brushes - it should be held in place with a clip. If it's hanging loose it's the fault)

This fault code basically means the PCB cannot detect any impulses from the tacho coil on the motor, so the main implication is that the motor is just not running. However, because other fault codes cover most of the other motor faults, the PCB thinks the motor may be physically jammed. That is, as far as the PCB is concerned, it is supplying the motor with power, but it can't detect the motor is running.

The buzzer sounds and the rinses indicator light flashes and the programme sequence display " - - - " appears in the display. This occurs at the end of all programmes just as it starts to spin.

Hi - I will tell you whats wrong with the machine, but you will need to get someone familiar with Miele equipment to fix it for you.

On this particular series - Rinse LED flashing means 3 - 4 things could be wrong with the washer.

Tacho - generator is faulty
Drive fault - electrical problem
Motor - has issues with starting
Blockage - drains - drive unit
Restrictions - of the drum turning.
Electronics - may be a component with an intermittent failure/decay.

It would be either one of the above or a combination of 1 or the other...

Hotpoint ultima wt721 error code fo2 showing! will not work properly!

Error code F02 means the motor has jammed, and or the tacho is loose or broken. .Check the motor hasn't jammed up somehow, or that the small tacho coil on the end of the motor hasn't dropped off (tip the machine back and it's in between the brushes - it should be held in place with a clip.

This fault is not caused by worn carbon brushes because on these washing machines, an open circuit on the motor causes the washing machine to do nothing at all. It would not fill, or empty (as well as the motor wouldn't run) although the indicator lights would work.
