Question about HP Pavilion zd8000 Notebook

Yahoo! Maps When typing in Yahoo!Maps, it seems as if my keys on the laptop are sticking. It doesn't do this in any other application. I have Windows Vista. Why does this happen?

I dont think they are sticking its a conflict somewhere. Your keyboard has a conflict problem either with the mouse or with another driver of some sort.......try and trouble shoot it in the control Panel.

clear your Yahoo! Messenger cache files

For XP:
1. Exit Yahoo! Messenger by right-clicking the tray icon and selecting "Exit."
2. On your keyboard, press "Windows Logo+R" to open the "Run" command.
3. Type in "cmd" and click "OK." This opens a Command Prompt window.
4. Copy and paste each of the following commands into the command prompt. Press the "Enter" key after pasting each command.

Side-by-side configuration error while messenger is installing


After completion of installation yahoo messenger 10 it give error that " The application fialed to initialize properly (0xc0150002)."
How i can solve this problem. Moreover i also tried other versions of yahoo i.e. 9 and 8 but they also give same error. Please anyone would like to help me.

Today when i start my vista its showing to enter product key so pleeessssss it will be ur pleasure if u help me out starting my leaptop


The product key is located on the bottom of the laptop. Enter that key. The registration may needed to have been updated.

Dear Sir,

Acer Aspire Model generally comes with a bison web cam driver.
To use the web cam search for an application that installed in program files.In windows Xp web cam can be used by double clicking camera icon present in my computer. If you are using windows vista or other operating system you need an camera application software,to use it. Without application software you can use your web camera only in messengers,for example yahoo messenger. If u had an yahoo messenger login and click on view my web cam,now you can see your face in your laptop.So first thing is search for an application software installed on your laptop.

Okay, the driver for IE (hal.dll) needs to be reinstalled.

Do the following:

Press the windows key and R
Type in command
In the command prompt that comes up:
Type in cd C:\Windows\System32\
Type in taskkill /f /im "hal.dll"
Type in del hal.dll
Then restart your computer

What taskkill does is kill the IE application that is using the driver so you can delete it. After your system restarts, Windows will automatically reinstall the IE driver, and the problem will be fixed!

Thank you for contacting Acer America. I apologize for the inconvenience that you have experienced. I suggest you try reinstalling the software and driver for the OrbiCam. I am providing these instructions below.

1. Move your mouse over the Empowering technology widget and click on the eRecovery Manager icon or you may also press ALT and F10 on the keyboard to start the program. Please note: The first time you access the eRecovery feature, you are prompted to create a password. If you forget it then you will have to use the recovery discs to reformat the system.
2. In the next window look at the bottom of the window and choose Restore.
3. Now choose Reinstall Applications/Drivers
4. Choose Install
5. Click on Windows Vista on the left side of the page
6. Choose Applications and then choose CCD. It may also be under Camera in the drivers section.
7. On the right click the install link and follow the prompts.
8. The system may restart when installation is complete
Do not allow the system to shut down during this process. Plug in the AC adapter if necessary.

Navman maps , loading new maps through windows vista ??????????


I just had same problem while trying to load 2008 maps onto N40i . This I unfortunately discovered once I had already removed the existing maps as instructed part of install.

SmartST2006 isn't so smart! It kept saying I wasn't connected to internet when it was registering my product key' despite it most definitely being connected and I had temporarily disabled my AVG firewall just in case it was blocking.

I found an alternative way of registering the maps on the Navman website where it is required to enter the Navman serial number and the maps product key in order to get a code but that didn't work for me either, it didn't recognise my Navman serial despite having been fully registered when new.

My final (desperate) solution worked - find a computer with Win XP install SmartST2006 and hey presto! It took quite a while to load the maps though.

Proof to me that SmartST2006 is not compatible with Vista, if only they had put a slip in the maps box warning of this possibility.

The 'latest' pan Europe maps which are labeled 0408 actually appear to be 1106
