My remote keeps having to be reprogramed for tv

I keep having to reprogram my remote control for my tv. I think it is a problem with the TV because I have bought a couple of replacements

try these first, MAGNAVOX and 0000,0001,0002,0003,0004.

Note: most remotes allow you to find the code by turning the TV on first, then setting the the remote in to "program" mode, then keep pushing the "off/power" button until the TV turns off, at that point the code is set.

HAD REMOTE2 set to turn on/off LG TV. trying to reprogram and it wont take code nor scan to find. Sat works tv does not.

I'm sorry you are having problems reprogramming your TV 2 remote to your LG TV. Have you replaced your batteries? If so, I have provided a link on how to reprogram the remote and how to perform a power scan. I will also give you several codes that should work with the LG TV. This is the link with the instructions for programming the remote to your TV. It begins with step 6.

Can not control the volume on an rca

Ok to reprogram the remote and this only works if you just use the remote for the tv and the receiver. Like i was saying to reprogram the remote hold the tv button till all the top lights flash, then push the red power button, then hit the up arrow button slowly til the tv cuts off, once it cuts off hit the pound (#) button. The top lights should blink three times, that should reprogram the remote, If it is a tv/vcr combo or a tv/dvd combo then there isnt a code for it. Also there is a series of years that the rca tv's wont take a full code and u can just control the power and the tv channel

Hello, I am sorry i did not get back to you sooner!

I found the manual on the internet, you can just copy and paste into your browser to download a copy for yourself if you like.

Here is the simple way of doing it:

0) Turn on TV.
1) Press and hold the TV button, light lights up, continue to hold.
2) Press and hold the power button, light turns off, keep holding both buttons down until light comes back on, release both buttons, light stays on.
3) Point remote towards TV the entire time you are programming.
4) Press and release play button, wait 5 seconds, if TV did not turn off press and release play button again wait 5 seconds. Repeat until TV turns off. (When your TV turns off, it was in the last 10 codes sent).
5) Press and release Reverse button, wait 2 seconds, repeat until TV turns back on.
6) Once the TV turns back on press and release Stop button.
7) Your Remote is now programed! Test it by pressing the power button, volume, mute etc..

My tv doesn't respond to my remote

If the remote is not the original remote for the TV, then your remote has to be reprogrammed to work with your TV. This sometimes happens when batteries are changes. Try going to your remote's website, and they might have the code listings, and instructions and how to reprogram.

How reprogram my universal rca remote control

hold the tv button down and keep it down and then press and hold the power button down and hold them both until the power button stays red then let go of both buttons then keep pressing the power button until the tv turns off and as soon as it turns off press the stop button and it should work.
