I have a client who wants to put hardwired headsets into house sound breakout rooms. Can I use a Shure PG30TQG or a WH20TQG and convert it to hardwire with a MX1BP

Bring a dynamic mic, the WH20 just needs a new connector put on it. The PG30 would need the MX1BP or the RK100PK with a phantom power supply.

SOURCE: No sound from a Shure MX412D/C

Sounds to me like you may be missing a phantom power supply. The 570S is a Dynamic mic. The MX412d/c is a Cardioid and requires a 11-52v supply over pins 2 & 3 in the mic cable. Phantom power is a feature of most professional mixing consoles(usually 48v). If you do not have a phantom power supply on your system- then you can purchase single battery powered units to insert in the link between sound console and Mic. For example: AKG B-18
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Hi, I bought the Shure Beta

That will not work. The Beta 87H/C already has a preamp built into it. That preamp requires phantom power. The MX1BP is another preamp, so you would not need it, due to the preamp that is built in.

If you do not have phantom power available, then purchase an external phantom power supply.

Can I do this ?

I gather from your question you want to connect it to a mixer with phantom power. It is designed for a wireless body-pack transmitter such as SLX which supply's the phantom power for the microphone. Shure makes adapters to allow it to be connected. Start looking at: http://www.shure.com/americas/search?q=PG30-TQG.

Watching TV and went through house, when I came back in to the room I noticed TV on but no sound. Checked cables, mute, and other TVs n the house. Other TVs have sound but my Spectronic does not! ...

Hi,

connect a DVD player to the TV. If you still do not have sound, connect a headset to the TV. If there is no sound coming from the headset, it means your TV is have a defective sound ic.

When the sound ic is defective, you cannt hear any sound from the TV because the sound ic is responsible for bring out sound through the speaker.

Let me have a feedback on this issue please.

Yours sincerely.

Put new battery in shure T1-CV light still says low battery

Sometimes the low battery light is also the check light (same with BOSS pedals). The wireless headset mic I have has the same problem, though. There is a small short going to that light, but it doesn't affect the sound quality or functionality of the mic.

As for fixing it, you'll have to find a schematic and pinpoint the short, or have someone else work on it.

Hope that helps!

No audio out of the left side headset Shure SCL4

There's not much to repair on these. I'd suggest sending them to Shure. They will replace them for a nominal fee. www.shure.com/service

Shure SM2 Headset/Mic wiring

Headset connection: Blue wire to Pin 2, White wire to Pin 1, Yellow wire to Pin 3. Connect Pins 1 & 2.
Microphone connection: Black wire to Pin 3. Red wire to Pin 2. Ground wire to Pin 1.
I am using a male/female 7-pin XLR connector assembly to black box. I am using two 3-pin XLR connectors, one for SM2 microphone function, one for SM2 headset function.

Microphone feedback

Yes, it could. With age it may become less directional. It probably sounds okay but just doesn't discriminate against sounds from the rear as well. Shure will put in a new element for not too much money.

OK....does it scratch when the cable going into the mic moves, or when the cable going into the connector @ the beltpack? Either way, Shure has an exceptional service policy on all of their mics. They have very reasonable prices for bringing their mics back to factory spec. If you are a touring musician who needs it ASAP, they are good at expediting the process. I always advise clients who use wireless mics to put a fresh Duracell battery in before EVERY performance. I am not an endorsee of that brand, but from experience, I am an endorser of it. A weak battery will cause static/scratches/drop outs. Call 800.516.2525(service line) or go to [email protected]. Unless you are REALLY good at precise soldering, this is not a DIY project.Good Luck
