Will not start, hit three times and now will not fire. Not a gas problem it is not firing at the plug. Pulled wire to kill switch did not help. Checked switch with meter and it is open in the run position. Checked and found a ground on the wire to the to the kill switch. What type of switch does this connect to?

If you're using a neon lamp type spark tester directly to chassis or engine block then, yes they can light with current that is insufficient to effect sufficient spark. Try connecting in series with the plug or use a gap type tester or the actual plug.

The Kawasaki v-twin uses two separate ignition modules (magnetos with electronics) and although not impossible it is unlikely both would fail at the same time or one would fail and stop the other from working.

It is more likely a safety circuit is causing the no run state. For this model, locate the RUN relay and check that the WHT/BLK wire (magneto kill) is open circuit to ground (engine block). If there's continuity to ground then magnetos are killed. Ignition switch OFF or PTO switch ON and seat not occupied are other kill states.

If you have fire to the plug and the plugs gets wet with gas when you are trying to start it,, well ..if this is true, you have a compression problem.
The 3 things a internal combustion engine needs to run are.
1. Timed Spark
2. Correct fuel/air ratio
3. Good compression

If the kill switch was bad, you would not be getting fire.

Check for spark at the sparkplug, to see if everything in the dist. is working right. And check the injector harness for something being pulled loose when the wires were jerked out.

You need to find out if the switches are normally open or closed, that can be done with an ohm meter. Then bypass each one at a time either by just disconnecting the switch or by putting a jumper wire between the contacts (wires off switch). For example the seat kill switch is normally open while operating (no connection) it closes (makes connection) when seat is raised (rider off) and grounds the ignition to shut down the motor. if you have no fire to the plug of course you have replaced the plug but now find the kill switch wire disconect it then see if it fires if it doesnot fire it is the ign coil

I usually don't recommend starting fluid but some brands have oil with them. You may have to dry the cylinders by getting them to fire with starting fluid.
You may have something else wet and grounding. Before using starting fluid spend some time with a hair dryer and try drying out the motor. Leave it sit in the sun with the cover off.
You should drain the carbs, drain the fuel line and gas tank.

Got gas? Got water in the gas? Drain the carbs and fuel line.

Check for spark. If no spark then check again with a new plug.
Is the kill switch on? Does the side stand have a kill switch? Is it working properly? Tip-over kill switch on your bike? Check the operation of the ignition switch and all kill switches with a volt ohmmeter.
Are all wires clean and with a solid connections? Check the loom. Any abraded wires? Is the bike in neutral and the neutral light is lit up? If no neutral light, check the neutral switch and neutral switch wire on center casing. With a little luck this will get you back on the road.

i HAVE A 2006 V STAR 650 CLASSIC WITH A STARTING PROBLEM, COIL PACKS HAVE BEEN CHECKED OK, CDI IGNITION MODULE HAS BEEN REPLACED AND STILL NO FIRE TO PLUGS, KILL SWITCH ON HANDLE BARS BEEN REPLACED TOO, STARTER WILL TURN ENGINE BUT NO FIRE AT ALL
