I want to copy my car remote key to my old car remote key

Hi all,
I bought used car with one remote key, and I have another remote key from my old car.
No here is my plan:
I want to copy my new car code to my old car remote key.

Many Thanks.

It is only doable if it is a learning style remote;usually you will only have success if the new and old remotes are of the same brand and even same model. Hey Glad to know you buy new car. Here's some resource

Depends on if your old car has the same transponder key as the new car. I would guess if they are different makes or models then they will not be compatible.

You can Order a Duplicate Car Key for your new vehicle online and save some money by programming the key yourself. You can find Car Key Programming Instructions online also.

2003 Toyota Matrix XR - will door open with key only?

The key that fits in the ignition should also open the door. If it doesn't, the new cut key is badly cut. The ignition lock gets used every time the car is driven, whereas the door lock is never used. The tolerance on the ignition lock to work is greater. The best place to get keys cut is at the dealership based on the VIN Number but they are 4 times the price.

Hi Everyone, I am now so tired of my 1996 Toyota

i don't know were you are but you can have a copy remote made. all they need is the old remote board, and as long as the chip is not damaged they can make a copy. other way is to get another remote from a scrap car. and have the remote linked to the car with a tec2.

Hi, my old remote key pad used to lock itself so if I bumped it in my pocket it wouldnt start. I bought a new 2 way recently but the key pad stays unlocked. How do I get it lock?

Press and hold the "f" for 8 seconds to access the remote programming features. The remote will emit one long beep and the LEDs will illuminate. Press the unlock button to access the remote programming features. Two transmit LEDs will flashes and two beeps indicate the remote programming features are accessed. Press the lock button on the remote( LED on indicates auto locking on, LED off indicates auto locking off). Press and release "f" button to exit programming.

I need keys for 98 cabrio. I only have copy keys and they dont work well. would like to know if car has keyless entry. First VW I have owned and I am unfamiliar with thier options.

Yes they do have keyless entry. I believe that year has the "banjo" style remote. What about for the ignition tho? You can find a place that will make a key directly from the door lock or the ignition and the best price I found was $200. If you still just want to go the remote route you can find em used for, if I remember correctly, around $60-$70 they're pretty pricey but they're over $100 brand new. I bought 2 used online and one of them didn't work, just fyi. Hope this helps.

2006 BMW 325i E90 remote programming

That remote you purchased, did you remove your vehicle key from your old one and insert it into the new one? At the back of the remote there are pinch grips, pinch and pull to remove the key, you should have a plastic version of this key for your car, in the spare in the glovebox, unless it has been removed, check also in the owners manual folder, if you bought this car used it maybe in there. If you do not have the kaey that matches your car to put in the remote it will not program to the car. Hope this helps, let me know.

2008 T&C (GD batteries) vehicle wont acknowledge key, or lights

The keys have security codes in them. If the key does not match the one the vehicle is looking for it won't start. You need to take the key and vehicle to a dealer to be reprogramed. Or if you just bought a key and have the old one, take the two keys to a dealer so the old key code can be copied to the new one.
