Question about Konica Minolta DiMAGE E50 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Dimage E40 TV picture stability

When I hook up my E40 to the TV with the supplied cable, the picture rolls. Same on another TV. I can view pictures on computer, download, transfer, erase etc. with no problem. When I change card, same problem with TV. Charge up, fiddle with battery, doesn't help. Could it be the cable? Where can I get another?

Thanks, that was it. I inadvertantly changed from NHTS to PAL. All is OK now.

In black and white? If there is a red and yellow, white and yellow, or red white and yellow on the tv end make sure the colors are matched correctly. Try on channel 3. Try on another tv. Is the camera from a foreign country? (Might be PAL, not NTSC.) If so, there should region menu in the camera to change this. For video, you have to shoot it in the mode of the TV you want to watch it on. North American TV's are NTSC, so shoot with the camera in that mode. If you shoot in PAL mode, a north american TV will show a black and white rolling picture. Just about everywhere else in the world is some version of PAL.

My TX is about 14 year old. The picture alwasy was excellent until we had an exlectrical storm that knocked out the cable box to the TV. With a new cable box the TV works. The picture has excellent color,...

Try your cable box on a different tv set and also try connecting the cable directly into the t.v, if that makes no difference then your tv set may have a power supply problem that was caused by an a.c line surge during that storm.

Hooking up from hd receiver to hdtv ready projection tv. what cables do I use? vga or rca component red, blue, green and sync white/black? My hd receiver has output of :hdmi, rca component, s-video ,...

This particular television puts you in a tough bind - you can use Component cables in AV-1, but you won't be able to get HD. Or you can use the Component cables in the right-most component slot (AV-4), but since your HD Receiver probably doesn't have V/H Sync connectors, you may get a rolling picture. Try the component cables in the right-most slot - if the picture doesn't roll, you're in business.

Once again, I doubt that your model # is a 60pp9202, since that model doesn't have a VGA or DVI slot. If the picture rolls after trying the above, you will need to purchase a HDMI-to-DVI-D cable and hook it up from the HDMI output of your HD receiver to the DVI slot (that looks like a VGA slot) on the back of your Philips or Magnavox.

When viewing images on TV the picture is vertically rolling.

Check the video setting in the set-up menu. It may be set to PAL if you are on the NTSC system, or vice versa. Also check the TV input to ensure your're on the correct channel.

The picture rolls vertically sometimes.

I would check the capacitors in the verticle deflection circuit. Also try resoldering the verticle output as well as the verticle yoke pins where they connect to the chassis. Mitsubishi has had some trouble with their capacitors, you may have one that is leaking. Let me know if I can help you further.

Vertical rolling of picture

If the picture rolls while both on cable as well as when you playback a tape or DVD, it could be caused by a bad filter capacitor in the power supply or vertical deflection circuits. If it only rolls while trying to view a picture from a cable/satellite box, then that component is likely at fault.
