I have a problen with a lap ibm 600x thinkpad . shows error 19990305

if your bios is loading up completely then you need to reinstall the OS with a disk. If the bios is not loading up all the way you need to go into your bios and reset it to the defaults. If you can't access the bios you need a new motherboard and unfortunately with laptops it is cheaper to but a new laptop than a replacement motherboard. You can rip out the HDD though and put it into an external enclosure to get all your old files. then once you have all your old files off of it you can format the old HDD and you have an external HDD for future back up :)

Hdd not recognised when i boot up my laptop

If the hard drive doesn't detect in multiple systems that if generally accepted as an indication of drive failure (Especially if another drive is seen in both systems) Fortunately, replacement drives are pretty cheap

HDD error no hard drive found, a new hard drive was installed but the result was the same

If system has a SATA HDD and you are using WIndows XP, you may need to load a SATA controller driver before the HDD controller will be recognized by the Winodws setup. Windows XP will require the driver from a floppy diskette, Vista will load from USB or any other type of drive

Hdd block error

Yes, better replace the hard drive. because even if you try and run a repair and work it will fail in the future. to keep your data safe i suggest that you replace your HDD now.

98 loading error message

When you format something you WILL lose all of the data that was there. I would also recomend upgradeing to XP, 2000, or NT. You may need to reinstall the OS. If you need instructions ask me and I can help.

Computer won't load Windows

Hello,
1. What the motherboard you had been using
2. Whats the HDD

Check that your motherboard supports the higher HDD
Upto 80GB HDD Windows can load the XP with servicepack 1
But after 80GB HDD supports the WIN XP with service pack 2 CD only.  Try to install with the winxp having above sp1.
