Hi, i typed a wrong letter and press the correction button. the typewriter went back to correct the letter but the letter is still clearly there. when i looked at the correction tape, the incorrect letter was etched onto the correction tape. I looked at the manual and installed it the way it asked me to but i still get the same results. Please advise. Thank you.
I've found that if I don't use the machine for a few weeks the correction tape that is exposed to the air becomes ineffective. I make a bunch of corrections in a row until fresh tape comes off the roll and the correcting function starts to work again.

Make sure the ribbon is a correctable (yellow or orange core) not a multi strick (blue core)
