Not to computer savvy but The hookup is VGA. Have a picture. I have a single audio cable going out of tv next to vga port to headphone port on back of tower.

  • Joey Apr 14, 2009

I was told all I needed was a cable from audio out on tv ( right next to vga port) and put it in headphone jack in back of tower. Everything worked but the sound.

Depending on what connectors you have on your tv will determine how you connect it if you can post back with make and model of your tv we can go from there.

Also you need to connect it to the correct port on the back of your sound card ( green port is the one you need to connect it on your pc ) and it needs to be connected to the correct port on the tv which will either be a head phone jack 3.5mm or RCA ports depending on your tv.

You have problem with wiring. You need two separate wires, 1 - pc-> TV (video), other pc->TV (audio). Audio cable - minijack to rc

  • Donatas Indrisiunas Apr 14, 2009

just plug audio cable to audio out (or headphone out)

Im trying to watch movies on my tv from my pc but my tv dont have vga, dvi,and hdmi ports it only has rca and s video.and my pc only has vga. how can i get it to watch movies from my pc to tv.

You would need to get a video card with an S-video or composite output. The sound comes from your speaker output jack (you can get a 3.5 mm stereo to dual RCA audio plug adapter cable for this).

I have connected my dell dimension e521 to my polaroid flm-1911 flatscreen via vga. i'm not getting any sound though.

VGA connections will not support sound, you need a separate audio cable from the pc to tv. If HDMI connection available on the computer and tv, a HDMI cable will carry both sound and video.

My monitor goes blank while watching a movie on netflex about every 8 min very annoying . I jiggle the mouse and the picture comes back . sound ok . Help

Your computer is just going to sleep from what it sounds like.

Just get into the monitor/power saving/screen saver settings and make it so the monitor has a longer relay to shut down when there is no mouse/keyboard movement.

Samsung flatscreen+ sky+

Is the TV connected using the HDMI port? If so then connect using the component instead and see what happens. If it works ok then possibly a software upgrade on the TV or your sky box.
