OK Maybe I should have asked "How do I remove the cover?"
What is it your looking to do with this monitor?

Oh Ok sorry we could not help you, but what was the problem with the bad monitor?
Yea they are, you need a ballast circuit, very very common for these units and Dell knows it. Have you tried to call them and see what their flat rate is to repair these monitors?
LOL I do truly know how you feel my friend.

Well I got a b oard through ebay that I thought would solve the problem. However, after prying open the case (this morning) and getting the other board out, I found that the replacement board had different connector sizes on it and I couldn't use it anyway. So the project is trashed and I will buy a new monitor. My setup was a dual monitor system and currently I am limping along with one monitor.

coming on faintly and then flicking off. Seems like a common problem with those monitorws. Someone said they are "throwaway" anyway.
