Uniden BC80XLT Radio Scanner distorted
It may very well be an interference problem. While the scanner may not have moved, there are many items around it that may be the source of interference. Think back to the time when the interference started. Did you install something new around that time frame? Perhaps a new computer, a new monitor, some new CFL light bulbs? Any of these items can cause interference. The other possibility is that the interference is coming from outside your home or office. While these sources may not be able to be corrected, you can do a few things to help reduce the effects of the intererence:
1. Move the scanner to a new location. Radio waves are tricky little things. You may be able to find a location where the interference is weaker, but your intended signal is still adequate.
2. Try moving the antenna. If using the rubber antenna that came with the scanner, try laying the scanner flat instead of upright.
The other thing you may want to do is check the frequency with another scanner. There is always the remote possibility that the problem is with the transmitter, and not with your scanner at all.
I hope this helps. Good luck!
