Hi, i am using combo drive samsung make model no sh m522c/idbh. Recently it started opening and closing automatically. sometimes press button is not functioning. assisst me a solution for this
Arav you will have to open this unit up, sounds as thought the units slider has passed the spring sensor. with the unit open manually open the tray, there should be a spring lock release on the right with it upside down facing you. slide the tray all the way back in until you hear it click and lock. You may want to do this several times to make sure no plastic pieces have broken off. If you see or find a piece come out then achances are the spring lock mechanism has snapped, not uncommon on this drive. The screws are easily located on the bottom.
Download
and install CCleaner (free) from Piriform-
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
Run
the cleaner to remove old un-needed temp files
Select
the StartUp tab and look for any programs that you know you
installed but no longer use or need, and disable them. Caution, do
not disable any system files unless you absolutely know what they
do and that you do not need them.
Run
the Registry cleaner, when asked if you want to backup the
registry, select YES, and save to a file you will remember just in
case. I have used this program hundreds of time on many different
system and it has never caused a problem, but you want to be safe,
backup the Registry.
If
asked about a particular file that it wants to clean, select "yes
to all"
Reboot
Windows should see the drive and reinstall the drivers.
