My printer suddenly one day stopped functioning. I tried to refill the cartridge and use it, but after that lot of black ink was spilled from the printer. Then I replaced both the cartrides with new ones, still it is not printing anything I cleaned it several times with the maintainence wizard and still it is not functioning. I even took out the print head unit along with cartridge and cleaned it physically. it still doesnt work. Can anybody solve my problem. do I need to replace my printers print head? any solution?? printer Model: canon pixma 1000 bubblejet color printer thanks.
Not to be to forward but because of the low cost of printers i would go by a new one. Replacing the head could be just as expensive as buying a new one. The reason I am giving this advise is from what you are saying you possibly could have a short. With the ink spill it could of ran down on some of your circuits. the other possibility is it gummed up. cleaning the rails and head will not fix this problem. I have worked on several types of printers and when there is a ink spill it gets all over everything. When heavy ink dries it turns into a sticky almost like glue substance and it could be gumming your motor, your belts , even your jet nozzles. It is just better and cheaper to buy a new printer.
