Power won't stay on

Last night the TV just turned itself off (we had a power outage earlier in the evening) and wouldn't turn back on. Now, if I unplug it for a while then plug it back in I hear the power start to come on and see the red power light on the front of the set for a few seconds but then it fades out. I can't turn it on by remote or by the power button on the set.

OK. I took the back of the set off. No signs of fluid leaking. Lots of dust. When I plug the set in, I see 3 green LEDs come on after a second or two. They stay on when a third one, closer to the back of the set than the first three, comes on a few seconds later. It comes on with along with a faint buzzing sound. It stays on only for a second or two and then all of the LEDs turn off to silence....

I just checked the power LED on the front. When I plug set in, nothing for a few seconds, then LED comes on solid red then fades. I assume that this is in synch with the 4th green LED coming on / going off on the inside of the set.

Sorry. I did mean to say that a "fourth" LED comes on in my first comment of today.

Got manual...forwarded to techman32K....tried to follow flow chart...got to point where found that the RED LED is ON (blinking on actually)....can't get it to do the next step...now what?

had poweroutage tv comes on tv runs check and when it gets to tv9volt circuit it shutsdown and gos in to protection mode

Same thing here. My 1998 set worked flawlessly until one day it just wouldn't turn on. If you unplug it for a few seconds and plug it back in, the red power light flashes on the front panel. Inside, a few of the green LEDs go on, all but one of them, and then the red protect LED starts to flash. I can hear a faint humming sound coming from right about where the power cord plugs into the circuit. I'm not totally inept when it comes to electronics but this has me stumped. I appreciate your help, thanks

While watching TV, it went off. No sound or any noise. Took off back, vacuumed the dust off, plugged back in, three green lights come on and then go off in a second. Have tried plugging in several days later. The same thing happens.

What does the light blink? Also look on the printed circuit boards right below the picture tubes and see if there is any fluid leaking on them. These are the first things we need to know.

If you can follow a flow chart, in the service manual, they give a great troubleshooting flow chart to follow and of the things to test along the way. It is a great helper when troubleshooting these TV sets. If you do not know how to read and follow a schematic, don't waste your money getting a service manual. If you can follow the schematic and or the flow charts, you can purchase one from here http://www.servicemanuals.net/results.as...

Samsung TV model LN32A450C1DXZA, after turning the TV on it will turn itself off shortly after and then turn itself back on shortly thereafter. Then it repeats that several times before staying on.

Hi there,

If the tv is still under warranty, this can be repaired at no charge.

However, if not under warranty, you will need to have the CAPACITORS on the main power supply circuit board tested (or replaced).

The capacitors responsible for the power supply can sometimes fail - open the back panel. If the capacitors on the main power supply board look too fat, or signs of burning near the solder joints, then you've found the problem.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Scott

My tv wont come back on

Check the power cord to the television if you are unable to turn it on with the "Power" button on the front. Make sure the cord is connected properly to the television and to a working AC outlet. If a power outage has occurred, unplug the television for 30 minutes to allow it to reset and plug it back in.

Me harddrive is not on anymore, i left it on last night?

Hi,
There was probably a power outage and you didn't notice it because you were asleep. The Computer's hard drive does not turn on by itself after a power outage.

Last night the set just turned off by itself. When I try to power on, the power light comes on for a second and then it shuts itself off again.

I am having this exact problem. The TV turned off by itself and now when I try to turn it on, the power light stays on for a sec and goes of with a click sound.

Any TV experts who can HELP?

Last night the tv was fine i turned it on this

Unplug 20 minutes. Make sure there is adequate ventilation around the set.

Try with the original manufacturer remote to view setup menu.

Power outages come at night. This sometimes resets the TV and other devices. .

We had a power outage last night while the tv was on. now i cannot turn it on. when i press power the light turns green for a second and goes back to red.

Check the capacitors for any bloating on the power supply board, and replace with exact value. Please don't run the TV 24/7!

Good Luck!
