No power My LCD monitor will not power up. I already checked the fuse inside and it looks fine. I do believe that there is power running through because when i flip the power switch on the side I can hear it hum, but when I press the power button on the front nothing happens. There is no evidence of physical damage noting looks burnt and the outer casing is intact. If anybody has any info please let me know. Thank You

First thing I would try this monitor with another PC first since the problem can be in some where else in the PC also. Do you get video if you boot up in safe mode? Did you load any new sofetware, drivers?

More likely the power supply porblem due to dying DC filter caps.

The power surge probably blew the fuse inside the tv, first check the fuse inside the mains plug, if that is good then you will have to take the back cover off the tv, you are looking for the power board follow the mains cable into the tv and you will find it. Look for a fuse on the board, pop it out of the fuse holder, if you have or can get hold of a multimetre check the fuse for continuity if it hasnt you will have get hold off another fuse, you can normally get them from your local electrical repair shop, they dont cost much and the liklyhood is they will probably give you one free of charge.
