Samsung bluetooth not discoverable

How can I make my bluetooth discoverable to my computer? I have turned on the bluetooth option in the phones settings but it only searches for head piece items and will not let my apple discover it. Is this possible?

Hi mate.Are you using iPhone (iPod touch) or Samsung phone?
Anyway,you can't transfer nothing with iPhone through BT. It supports only headset- so no file transfer.

What are you trying to connect?
If it's your Mobile:

On the Phone:
1. Select the option to enable Bluetooth Tethering.
2. Enable Bluetooth on the phone.
3. In the Bluetooth menu, make the phone discoverable by tapping the top message.

On the iPad:
1. Turn the Bluetooth on in Settings.
2. When the phone appears on the list of devices, Tap to connect.

That should do it.

How to turn Bluetooth on and off on a Samsung Intensity
Like many other cell phones, the Samsung Intensity (SCH U450) is Bluetooth-capable. Turning Bluetooth on and off on the Intensity is easy to do, as is configuring the phone's various Bluetooth options and setting up new connections.

To turn Bluetooth on, press the Menu button (the round button in the upper center of the numeric keypad). On the main menu screen, select the Settings & Tools submenu in the lower right hand corner. Then scroll down to item #3 (Bluetooth Menu) and select it.

If Bluetooth is currently disabled, the option in the lower left corner of the screen will say "Turn On." Press the left option button to turn Bluetooth on; you'll see a box pop up that says "Bluetooth power on." Now you can pair your phone with other Bluetooth devices, either by initiating a connection (choose Add New Device from the Bluetooth menu, or if you've paired with the device before, select it from the list of devices) or by making your phone discoverable (click the right option button, select Discovery Mode, and turn it on).

To disable Bluetooth, go back into the Bluetooth menu and just hit the left option button ("Turn Off"). A box will appear that says "Bluetooth power off."

If you're not sure if Bluetooth is on or off at any given time, just look at the status bar at the top of your Intensity's main screen. If you see the Bluetooth icon -- a sharply-angled white "B" on the blue background -- then Bluetooth is currently enabled.

Pairing with iPhone
  1. Connect the iPhone Dual Dock or iPhone Bluetooth Travel Cable to a USB 2.0 port on your computer (not on the keyboard).
  2. Connect iPhone and the headset to the dock or cable. The headset pairs with iPhone automatically.
Pairing iPhone Bluetooth Headset with another Bluetooth-enabled deviceTo pair the iPhone Bluetooth Headset with another wireless device, such as a Bluetooth-enabled phone or computer.
Step 1: Set the headset to be discoverable
  1. Turn off the headset.
  2. Press and hold the headset button for about eight seconds, until you hear the startup tone and then five quick high beeps.

    The headset is now discoverable and will remain so for about five minutes. The status light blinks while the headset is discoverable.
Step 2: Turn on Bluetooth on the other device and search for devices
  1. On the device, turn Bluetooth on and set the device to search for other Bluetooth devices.
  2. On the device, choose iPhone Bluetooth Headset and enter the PIN code 0000.

you need to pair it first to your laptop or computer's bluetooth before you can send any data.
do these steps..
1. open your bluetooth from your computer, make it discoverable, and select add device. open your bluetooth from your phone, in the same way, make it discoverable so your pc will search for it. once searched, select your device and click next. it will install, it will ask for a pairing passcode it's up to you to assign this both on your pc and your phone, just use 1, so you can remember it easily. once paired you can send any files from your phone to your pc.

if the phone bluetooth driver was asked during the installation, just install the pc suite software that comes with your phone and let your phone be discover again through bluetooth by your pc.

How do I know if my bluetooth is in pairing mode
The Explorer 220 is not in discoverable mode until the light is flashing alternating between blue and red. This is done by holding the button as long as it takes.

So, the steps to pairing the phone should be as follows:

1 - Power on bluetooth on your phone. With most phones this is done by finding "Bluetooth" in the settings and tools menu and choosing the option for "on"

2 - Put the headseat in discoverable mode by holding the button for at least 30 seconds to a minute. The light should be flashing and alternately turning blue then red

3 - Then you may have to tell your phone to search for any discoverable bluetooth devices (warning if you have a computer or netbook with bluetooth capability your phone may find that too) be sure to wait until the phone shows "Plantronics" or "Headset" as an option

4 - Choose that option and click ok. Your phone will try to "auto pair". If that is unsuccessful it will ask for a code. That will typically be four zeroes (0000) for this particular headset.

The phone will tell you when pairing is successful.

How do you get bluetooth to work?
In the bluetooth menu turn the function on, next turn on discoverable mode. Press and hold the power button on the bluetooth until the light turns on steady, usually 10 seconds or longer. Next on your phone select "search for a new device". It should find the bluetooth. It will ask for a PIN number enter 0000 (four zeros) then select pair. How do I pair my WEP 200 samsung bluetooth to my phone blackberry phone
Your phone MUST have the bluetooth on and discoverable. When it is press and hold the power button on the WEP200 until the light turns on steady should be 5 to 10 seconds. With this done, use your blackberry to search for a new device, should be in the bluetooth menu. It should find the headset. Your phone will ask for a password enter "0000" (four zeros) then press pair or enter. It will take a few seconds to connect. Your phone will automatically connect to this headset when you power it on. Don't forget to turn the phone back to un-discoverable when done. I hope this helps.
