I bought a new computer recently and i am having problems playing some new pc games on it,i seem to meet all of the system requirement that are stated on the games'box, but when i go to start the game up it says-prism3d engine has stopped working, and it wont even let me start the game,i thought that maybe my graphics card wasnt up to snuff, but when i try to update it ,it says that its current and working fine, but some of my games work but others dont, which really baffles me.the game is hunting unlimited 2008,its minimum requ are-pentium4 processor ,which i have,256 mb ram, which i have160gb,1gb hard drive space,i have that also, direct x 9 or better, which i have, but i am sort of sketchy on the rest-64 mb graphics accelerator, not sure if i have this, and 64mb direct x graphics card, mine is a ati radeon xpress 1100,not sure if thats good enough.
Same problem, same game, same system sounds like. Except just before the Prism3d thing, it says "sys_no_graphics".Same problem, same game, same system sounds like. Except just before the Prism3d thing, it says "sys_no_graphics".

Re: pc gaming issue
I had the same problem with my computer too . Start playing the game and in about an hour I have the same error message "prism 3d stoped working" twice or more . I have a Intel core 2 duo 2.13ghz , 4gb ram and 1 gb graphic card so there's not a problem with system requirements . The only thing that really worked for me was download the update for Direct X 9 @ this link http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en .
So far I played 18 Wheels of Steel for about 2 hours straight with no problems .
My best Suggestion is to take a look at www.srtest.com You can see your system's compatibility with most games. The one you are looking at is probably there.

Re: pc gaming issue
Check your virtual memory. it may not be allocating enough space on your hard drive to properly run. also there's a screen for software compatibility. programs that used to run flawlessly on win 98 may not run on windows xp or vista.

You can check the basic system requirement for the game and then check whether your laptop meets the requirement or not. If your system meets the requirement then you can try to uninstall the game and then reinstall it. This should help you.
This one really depends on the game or application your trying to use. Bioware for example most recently had an issue with Mass Effect 2 in which the game did not work well on non-dual processors to spite system specifications. The issue had to do with the movies, not the the rendered scenes. Ironically, new compression standards have made some video more intensive on lower end processors than fully 3D rendered scenes. If the problem was heating or damage to the card, you would crash after a certain amount of use, not at a certain point in the game. If you think it is the card, you can turn everything down to the lowest setting and see if the issue goes away. But I'm betting it won't. I would check the other components...make sure your system RAM is good, look for patches or forum complaints about the game your playing, and close out anything like Skype, Steam, messenger clients, etc. that your not using.
Sorry to say, your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements for this game. Here are the requirements
Operating System
Windows XP (Service Pack 3) or Windows Vista (Service Pack 1) / Windows 7
CPU
Intel Core 2 Duo 1.6 GHz or faster
Memory
1.0 GB (Windows XP)
1.5 GB (Windows Vista/Windows 7)
Hard Drive Space
6 GB of free space
Graphics Hardware
256 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 3.0. Recomended: ATIRadeon X1800 XT 512MB or greater, NVIDIAGeForce 7800 GT 256MB or greater.
Sound Hardware
DirectX 9.0c compatible
Network
512 Kbps or faster
Input Device(s)
DualShock 3, Xbox 360 controller keyboard, mouse, Wheel
Hi,
i,d suggest your problem, is with either the Graphics card. Or your Memory is very Low. I,d go 512 meg RAM ( minimum ) Go To 256 Meg ( AGP Or PCI-e Card ) minimum.
Install Direct X 9 Or 10 if the new card supports It.
Also check The Speed of the Memory.
Final solution, is to free up some items From The start-Menu.
Hi there did the system requirements of the game meet your system?... if yes try to ask your local computer shop to try it on their computer then you'll see if it is defected or not...
well the game must meet the minimum requirements of ur system. even a slightest decrease in ur video card configuration or direct x version or even the required memory then it would fail to turn up and re installing it again and again will not solve the issue.even just buying a new video card will not help. ur desktop MUST meet all the requirements of the game.
With your Extensa you should be fine with the video and sound cards, as long as yours meets the 2ghz + 1g RAM, you shouldn't have any problems with the game. If you are, try updating to the latest sound and video drivers. Also, if you're sitting on 1g of RAM now, you might consider bumping it up to 2g. This will help it run smoother and avoid crashing during a gaming session.
Same problem, same game, same system sounds like. Except just before the Prism3d thing, it says "sys_no_graphics".
