Hi Mauimikie9,

some local resellers will replace the battery if they have authorised technissions on site.

However, you should ideally go to an apple retail store. They do these things all the time.

If you want to try it yourself, here is the first result in google for self replacement.

Good luck,

Nathan.

The battery in your iPod Shuffle has apparently reached the end of its usable life.

There are directions, replacement parts, and tools available at ifixit to allow you to replace the battery:

Just purchased a 32 gig ipod touch . the unit

It appears as though you are attempting to charge the ipod with a cable that is not compatible. Some newer ipods cannot be used with older chargers and adapters for cars. Apple does this to maximize their profitability and in my opinion rip off consumers.

My daughters new ipod will work on her old FM adapter in my car but it says it does not support it on the ipod itself. It will transmit through the wire, but will not simultaneously charge it as the older ipod did both.

It is similar to cell phones and batteries. If you own the original razor and upgrade to the next generation razor, the usb connectors are different (hence the chargers will not work) and the battery connections are different so you cannot interchange batteries between the two. Even though you would think Ipods are Ipods and everything should be interchangeable, they are unfortunately not.
I hope this helps and good luck!

Ipod 4th gen not charging on Jensen VM9311TS

The issue is that the 4th Generation iPod takes far more energy to run than your 4gb iPod. Updating the firmware has nothing to do with it. It's the amount of energy/voltage that this new 8Gig unit takes to run.
Think of it as a 4 cylinder verses an 8 cylinder engine. The 8 takes far more gas to run.

Ipod shuffle (2nd gen) completely dead

you are still under warranty...take it to the sony apple store...they will fix it /replace it or tell you there is cost if it not the battery (note do not tell them you charged overnight, and for the future do chage any gadgets more than 3-4 hrs) when you do charge over night you are actually shorten the battery life span or overcharge....so as soon as you come home from school, work, whatever cell/ipod or any other device needs to be charge...charge it now and unplug before you go to bed....

Ipod not holding charge

you may need to have a new battery installed.
Take it to an ipod repair guy and they will install a battery for about 25.00 or so.
It's not an easy fix, the battery is the solder in type and is a very tiny magnifying glass kind of job.

Good luck

Ipod touch battery

have you tried a factory reset (in itunes, while your ipod is plugged in, click on the ipod touch icon to the left, then go to general, and go to "reset ipod to factory settings" or something similar)...this will only erase what is on your ipod...it won't affect your itunes. also, if you already tried reseting it and still not working...you could get the 2.0 firmware update...it's about $10 dollars to upgrade to that though (i'm not a fan of apple...especially not now) you can get the upgrade directly from the apple website here ....so try those solutions. also make sure you have the correct drivers installed..which would be ..and if those don't work, i would call apple and talk to them about that issue..if it is still under warranty, you should be fine to have it replaced (or if you bought it somewhat recently) and if not...you'll have to sharpen your voice to a almost threatening tone and apple will most likely give in and either replace it or give you money.. ((i called them when i got an ipod video 30 gig, and 1 week later they released the 60 gig for the same price as the 30....so i called them and yelled at them alittle bit...they gave me $50))....i hope this has helped....oh and do you have a mac or windows? is it 1st generation ipod touch or 2nd generation (very thin is 2nd generation)? also make sure the drivers are up to date (if your computer is connected to the internet, open itunes and plug in your ipod, it should tell you if you need new drivers...if not, you're good)

30 gig Ipod wont come on

Hello HBB-Wildman,

It sounds like the battery in the iPod may have failed. The internal battery pack in the iPod is designed to last a long time but will eventually fail and require replacement.

I would suggest either taking the unit into your local Apple Store or following the procedure on the iPod support page to get service on the unit.

Best Regards,
Ken

Battery life

battery is most likely at the end of its life.
You should replace the battery, that should fix the problem.

New batterys can be bought from ebay, www.ebay.com I don't have a contact there.

If you need instructions on how to change the battery drop me a comment.

Good luck.

Cant get shuffle to work when not conected to pc

How long have you had the unit? If it's been a year and a half or 2 years your battery needs to be replaced. They loose their ability to retain a charge in that time frame, and when you test a good battery or a bad battery they will both read 3.6v as a tester does not put a load on the battery, meaning you have 3.6v when the unit is off but when it turns on (load) it drops to zero. You could also try resseting the unit, to do so follow these instructions. To reset iPod shuffle: Disconnect iPod shuffle from the computer (if connected). Move the switch on the back of iPod shuffle to the off position. Tip: When iPod shuffle is off, the green stripe by the switch is not visible. Wait 5 seconds. Move the switch on the back to the play in order or the shuffle position. The green stripe will be visible in either position. iPod shuffle is now reset. If after resetting iPod shuffle you are going to attach it to your computer, be sure to place the switch in the off position. If you were resetting as part of some troubleshooting steps, continue with those steps now. For general troubleshooting steps see the iPod shuffle troubleshooting and service FAQ.
