Question about Foxconn G9657MA-8EKRS2H Motherboard

1 Answer

BIOS versions with serious problems (Foxconn G9657MA-8EKRS2H)

Fellows, take a look at my complain that were posted at support site of Foxconn: ---------------------------------- That's the third time I try to get help from you and I'm not joking. Now I found some more people testimonials at internet talking about exactly the same problem I'm having with 3 of the same motherboard. ALL 3 I HAVE BOUGHT FROM A BRAZILIAN DISTRIBUTOR. It`s crystal clear that there is a obvious problem with you latest BIOS version , 631F1P50. First of all take a look at what ftwom says at the pros and cons at newegg ( Listen to me carefully and you are going to see what`s happening. 1) I bought the motherboard (3 of the same model) 2) I build my system (I'm an old system integrator with many years of experience) 3) The original bios version I found is 631F1P36 4) The system boots and works perfectly , setup, etc, etc. RAID configuration and so on. But there is a problem, I need to upgrade de BIOS to 631F1P50 because when I try to install Windows Vista 65 Ultimate it gives me a bluescreen with the message that the BIOS is not fully ACPI compatible. BELIEVE ME! 5) I need to upgrade to version 631F1P50 to install my VIsta 64 Ultimate. And I do it because there is no other option. THERE COMES THE HELL!!!!!!! 6) After upgrading to 631F1P50 the system starts to reboot, wait a few seconds, reboot, wait a few seconds, reboot, to the infinity. I notice something that I had already told you before. There is only one wait to get the system boot normally again and that is to remove the USB Microsoft keyboard connector and use only the PS/2 that is at the same cable Y. And it`s necessary to turn off completely the system and turn on again to get it working. PLEAS I HAVE 3 MOTHERBOARDS TO DELIVERY TO MY CLIENTS AND THEY USE VISTA! PLEASE HELP ME FOR GOD SAKE! --------------------------------------- Now take a look at their absurd answer that is at the link ( Dear, Thank you for supporting FOXCONN product. Pls try another CPU. Because this MB can't work well with Q6600. There are a few bugs need being fixed. Pls try a processor in the list. ------------------------------------- Are there consumer rights at USA that can help someone that bought something to work one way and it simply does not work and the manufacturer says "try another model" ??? OMG!

That`s not the real solution that has already been done, but thanks anyone. It seams you don't really that much about computers.

It seams you don't really know that much about computer because what you said is not related to the problem. The CPU is at the list and the problem is not the CPU working is after the BIOS upgrade. The problem was solved some days after I posted this problem, and Foxconn made a new version of the BIOS solving the problem I reported. It all shows that I was 100% right since the very beginning. Thanks for your try, but too distant from reallity.

It`s easier to say try another model , even when the model you are trying is one of those supported at the site. OMG I tell you because if they corrected the problem with a new BIOS the problem was their problem, wake up man!

It sounds like the Manu is advising you that the Motherboard / Processor combination you are using is incompatible (at this rev of BIOS),  you should therefore be able to return the processors you purchased from the distributor as incompatible/not fit for purpose. (supply the distributor with the information provided by the manu)

you should be able to exchange the processors you purchased with compatible CPUs from the list.

Does dual core processor support Foxconn P9657AA-8EKRS2H mother board

The Foxconn P9657AA-8EKRS2H motherboard has a LGA 775 Socket. It will support Intel Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Extreme, and Core 2 Duo processors with an FSB of 1066 (800MHz). Thus is should support the dual core 775 processors. (Some Pentium 4, Pentium D and Celeron D CPUs may also be compatible with the board.)

I hope this helps.

Foxconn 945G7MA-8EKRS2 Motherboard will not post with pentium d cpu ,i have even updated with the lates bios flash,

Good day,
According to Intel 945G chipset supports Celeron D up to Core2Duo. Intel Gigabyte's 945 DS3 even supports up to Core2Quad. GByte Foxconn has 3 mobo bios from there site. Foxconn
According to their date: Latest to oldest
4BFF1P56 No Version 4BFF1P40
Have you tried installing the no version bios? In my experience some latest bios have some problems with other devices so try to use the no version bios. or try a different mobo bios with the same chipset from Foxconn. below are two foxconn mobo models i can't see the difference.
945G7MA-8EKRS2 945G7MA-8EKRS2H
Update at your own risk..
hope this helps, thanks for posting.

Repeated failure to load Windows 7 HP

Foxconn don't have this board on their list of their Windows 7 supported chipsets (which is hardly surprising), but as you state all your individual components should be perfectly OK with Windows 7 .
I suggest you flash the Bios because Foxconn had to produce a new Bios for Vista in order for that OS to run correctly.

Best of luck.

I'm getting no display

attached is the layout of the mothb9b9588.jpg there is a 8pin 12v rail and a 24 pin 24v.
what are you trying to do???

Computer wont start consistently.

Just reset ur bios settings on ur board by jumper settings or by remove the cmos battery once and once again place it in its position . start ur computer and in bios just reset all the bios settings then restart the computer

Requared bios updated versin for foxconn 865gv chipset mother board

Hi, I run a foxconn mobo myself and yes its a great board. But dont go to the foxconn site looking for downloads. instead go to the VIA site they make the chips and you will get more sense there. If all else fails Foxconn do have a "Contact us " link on their home page. This will give you the company email address and you could request directions to the update site there, the only trouble is it could take weeks to get a response. Regards mistyman
