I used to fix a 19 inches LCD flat screen from Dell. There are 4 screws at the back of rear panel and no screw at the front frame. If there is no visible screw, you have to look for "capped" screw holes (little covers that fit flush with the case to hide the screws). If you don't see these neither, this must be a tension fit case. So, face the screen up and look for "rectangular hole" on the side edge (usually at the bottom edge of the screen). This will be a challenge to open without breaking it. You'll need a very thin flat screw driver and wedge it into that narrow rectangular hole. You can use any prybar if you don't have screw driver. It is not too deep. You may stab something important inside and pry it. Once it starts to spread, start sliding it along the seem and you should feel the tension tabs start "popping" open. Continue to work your way around until it's off. Hope this will help you to get the rear panel off. If there is anything I can help you with, feel free to let me know.
Thank you,

I have an LCD monitor, model 1703FPt. the power led on the lower panel of the monitor turns on BUT the screen remains Black Blank. nothing comes on the screen. need help.

Check the data connector on the Monitor. Not the power cable but the other one. Try changing that and see if it solves the problem.

I hope you have the correct drivers installed for your monitor based on the OS of your computer.

When i turn on the monitor, no picture--just blinking lights

Hello,

Have you check all connection to see if they are right, check if no cable was unplug, if you have and yet no picture display, It could be that the picture board on your monitor has started malfunctioning, since the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity or any service center to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

MY DELL E173FPb FLAT MONITOR WILL NOT COMPLETELY POWER UP IN GOES

Most common failure in this model is shorted transistors in the inverter circuits caused by poor solder connections, see pictures here for guide: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/Dell%20E173FPb/

Dell Flat Screen goes from good to bad

Check that the connection from monitor to computer are tight. Maybe disconnect and then reconnect tightly. The most likely problem if the connection if good is your graphics card. Most of the time these are embedded on your motherboard meaning the entire board would need replacing, some graphic cards are external cards that are easier to troubleshoot and replace. Try the connections and let me know. Is the computer older than the monitor, or were they purchased together? What is the warranty status?

SCREEN BLANKS WITH POWER LIT GREEN

Look for bulged or leaking capacitors on the power supply board. If you can solder, you should be able to replace them with the same type and rating and that may just solve the problem. I've had luck with a couple of dozen monitors so far.

No picture

Try to reverse the cable....use the end connected to the computer at the monitor and the monitor end to the computer. If tapping the monitor doesn't do anything and tapping the cable at the computer does the same faults then I would have it checked or just replace that cable.. Good luck.

Dell E172FP 17 monitor keeps blinking

That sounds like the backlight inverter board. Check ebay for the board or a repair kit for it.
