Need an owner's manual on line
Posted by LinJay on Jun 09, 2008
I have lost my owner's manual for my shop vac and need to figure out how to set it up so I can pump out my flooded basement using a garden hose.
Is there anywhere I can find an owner's manual on line??
The model stated on my vac is not what I clicked on your site....my vac states:
Model QPV 10.5
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. I am supplying you with the contact for the Shop Vac Factory Service for owner’s manuals listed below: for the website and the customer service line, but make sure you include the Shop Vac Model # and the Serial # as well. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

you need to go get some bags and srew on the nozel and then put the bag inside the vac it will then act like a dry vac.

Hi, I know on my Craftsman shop vac 2 different sizes of vacs that I use, I try and stick to the craftsman filters, but you can use other brands if they are not available or you want to save some ( $ ) ? As far as a manual for this vac, more then likely you will have to go to the maker and distributor as Sears, O.C.Hardware also sell there products. You may have to go with a manual that is the same peak H.P.and gallons that covers all different makes and models. Filter wise, make sure you have the right ones on or off when using the wet or dry pick-up settings.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7

I just uploaded a copy (pdf) of it to manualsonline.com. It's a site that is as it's name implies: you may have to "join" in order to download (can't remember), but it's free if you do.

generally you remove the filter and just use the foam sleeve (if it has one) it should have a float ball in a cage under the filter. this is to keep the water from going into the motor if it gets too full. That is pretty much it. You should have it plugged into a GFCI outlet when using it for wet pick up, also do not pick up flammable or hazardous liquids.
