Tiny remnants of dirt stay behind

Dishwasher was fine till a cherry pit got stuck in the little red flapper valve. I disassembled and cleaned EVERYthing. found no problems besides that. Discharge path is clear to the drain. Yet still some small bits of food remain behind. Water temp OK, flow is fine.
Could that little flapper be damaged? Any other ideas?
Thanks!

Sounds like you may have damaged the flapper. Follow this link to order a replacement for less than $8.00. I've used the site to acquire many replacement parts myself. Excellent service. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/search.aspx?model=pdw7300
Good luck.

Clean out the air gap. Remove decorative cover by pulling up. Remove plastic dome by gripping and moving side to side while pulling it up. When you get the dome off you can see if the air gap is partially blocked.

SOURCE: Dishwasher not draining water

I had the same problem....removed hoses, checked for cloggs the hole nine yards.....Inside of the unit towards the back in the bottom is a filter cover and in the middle is a valve that you just screw out. It has a rubber stopper that overtime breaks down....I was able to pick up the part locally for about $17CDN, replaced the part and the unit drains properly now.....now I have an issue with no power

SOURCE: Dishwasher water draining????

Make sure the odor is coming from the dishwasher.
Pull the bottom basket out and check for food that might be stuck in it. And check for food particles in the bottom of the dishwasher.
Then pour some baking soda into the dish liquid compatment. Run it through a complete cycle. This should deodorize and clean the dishwasher. i hope it helps. Please remember to leave rating.

When started makes sound but no water flows in. Hose looks ok

The most comon problem is a water input valve that gets plugged or the input strainer. The valve uses a tiny pintle pulled by a solenoid that opens a small orifice which then moves a diaphram that opens the main valve seat. A small piece of contamination can plug the little orifice so valve won't open. USUALLY you can take valve out and clean the little screen where the water comes in and disassemble and clean the guts of the valve. Be careful to NOT lose the little spring behind the pintle.

There is food and grit stuck to my glasses. Where is this coming from? I am rinsing all the dishes before I put them in , so it must be in the dishwasher somewhere,

We used to have this problem with a Kenmore that had a built-in "garbage disposal"--it was a little blade that ground up larger food particles. Occasionally a cherry or olive pit would get inside and dull, chip or break the blade, and the symptom was food particles on the dishes. The solution was to replace the grinder.

It appears that the dishwasher goes through all the cycles; in reality, no water is going into the dishwasher. This happened suddenly, and the water supply to the rest of the house seems fine. Is this...

Often you will find a plugged screen at the inlet water valve. Small dirt particles can jamb the valve, disassemble that area and test. The screen can be cleaned.

Dishwasher will not drain

Hello, sounds like you either have a blockage in the pump or check valve. Remove the spray arm, the 4 screws on the filter and check for a blockage. If you find nothing inside the machine remove the panel at the bottom below the door. Behind this you will see the outlet pipe which is hooked up to the check valve. remove the outlet pipe and then unscrew the check valve from the dishwasher. has one the other day with a cherry pit stuck in the check valve. If you have any other questions please feel free to comment again. Also remember to turn off the breaker before working on your dishwasher. Thanks! Mike

I have the exact same problem

There may be something in the drain line that that is limiting the flow. A cherry pit for example. Remove the drain line where it connects to the pump inlet (or valve is there is one) below the washer and see if there is anything clogging it there.

Dishes not coming out clean

Most cleaning problems are caused by the dishwasher not getting enough wash water, so the water-inlet valve is often to blame. This valve is usually at the bottom left or right of the dishwasher, behind the lower access panel. It's the device with the main water line from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.

When a water-inlet valve is defective, you may hear the sound that's usually referred to as "water hammer." If the water-inlet valve is defective, you need to completely replace it.
