My Whirlpool Electric Oven (2000) had the E2 F3 codes come on when we were cooking a roast. I found that the elements were on full time and even with tha cancel initiated, it continued to heat with the door becoming locked.I was able to turn off all power to the unit and wait an hour to cool, in order to open door and retrieve burned roast.I will check the temp. sensor as described.
I woke up and went to the kitchen to a beeping noise and the stove was in self cleaning mode with The door locked and I have an E O F3 Error code.
After baking fine for an hour or so, the stove beeped and it displayed the E2 F3 code (Whirlpool gas range, drop-in style, circa 2005). This has happened one or two times before. I caught the roast before it was totally incinerated, but the oatmeal cookies were black rocks when it happened before.
This stove has been a nightmare. We had the electronics on the oven replaced under warranty, have replaced the oven burner before and now this. Of course, Whirlpool won't do anything because it's more than a year old.
