Question about HP Compaq Presario V2555US Notebook
I was wondering if the little black piece that connects the hard drive to the motherboard could get ruined. When i did a hard drive self test it failed saying "fail #1-07" so i bought a new hard drive and when i put it in, it says the same thing. is the little piece that connects the hard drive to the motherboard damageable?? and could it be the problem?
Check the New bought Hard drive piece maybe it was properly attached to the board. After that, format the hard drive before use. An unformatted hard drive may br manfunction.

If I may ask a dumb question, was the new drive formatted prior to running the test? A unformatted drive will fail.

Tips for a great answer:
One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive
Test the leads that attach to your ((hard drive from the motherboard)) or replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your ((motherboard to hard drive))
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
hope this helps
