Actually, no you can't. According to the manual http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pio/pe... there is NO USER CALIBRATION for the touch screen. Do your homework before you give poor ratings. Also, this question is over FOUR YEARS OLD. You're a little late to the party.

mitch i have 3 of these and i have to recalibrate 2 of them every season. so don't send me to do my homework when i have hands on experience with them. you may get me on technicality because calibration happens with software, not necessarily the touch, however isn't it all the same if it solves the problem?

and, if i have to recalibrate them every season, the problem persists, (one car sold so new owner may find it helpful i told him about it) so I'm not late to no party lol and yes this is a 3 year old response lol.

The best place I know of to get that unit repaired would be to send it to Pioneer
Service,Long Beach California. You could also try a company in San Diego, Ca. Called La Jolla Audio, But I Would send it to Pioneer if it was my deck.

Some buttons don't work

Pioneer AVIC-D1 Touch Screen Recalibration

If your pioneer AVIC car navigation unit does not register your touches or the wrong button is “pressed”, you need to re-calibrate your screen’s digitizer.

1-Hold the Eject button down until the face of the unit drops all the way
2-Using a pen hold down the reset button (just above the joystick) and the navigation disc eject simultaneously.
3-Release the reset button.
4-Release the dvd eject button next. The display will read “press reset”
5-Push the joystick up two times.
6-Push the joystick down twice.
7-Press the joystick in.
8-The service menu will appear after a short pause. You can navigate the service menu using the joystick.
9-Chose the first menu option and press in on the joystick.
10-Trace the screen with a stylus.
11-"P.ADJ" is the back button
12-Chose the second menu item in order to calibrate the touch screen. Use a stylus again and tap the "+" sign on the screen. (You may have to touch slightly off center if the digitizer is damaged. In which case things will still be off but it will be much better.)

Pioneer in-dash navigation system AVIC-D1

Hi, You set the screen so its all the way down and hold down the dvd eject then the reset button for a few seconds, then let off of the reset button, keep the eject button held down for another few seconds. Then the screen will say press reset. instead using the joystick, press up,up,down, down then push it in at the center. It will come up with options. the first one is touch screen test. using the joystick click on that one and do the calibration test. You will then have to trace the outline of the screen, while you are on the right side of it, trace it short to make up for the buttons on the right side. when you finish push the joystick in. it will say "settings ok" then go down to the 4th one, i think, and it will say something like test calibration settings and go to that one. It should say that the settings were saved. After that shut the key off and turn it back on and it should be good to go.
